  • Ipswich have only lost one of their 19 league matches at home this season, and that defeat came back in October.

  • They have scored 35 goals and conceded 13 at Portman Road this season, boasting the best defensive home record in the Championship.

  • These sides are currently level on points, and there is plenty to play for in the battle for a top-two finish.

📈 Ipswich v Millwall Form & Stats

Ipswich have been one of the most in-form teams in the Championship recently, and they secured a 2-0 win against Sheffield Wednesday at the weekend. The Tractor Boys were dominant throughout, as they accumulated 16 shots and four big chances at Hillsborough worth 2.75 xG. In return, the hosts managed just five shots worth 0.36 xG.

However, this upcoming clash against Millwall promises to be much more challenging, and the outcome of this one could have massive implications on the promotion race.

Millwall saw their four-game winning streak obliterated at the weekend, as they suffered a 2-1 loss to Blackburn Rovers. After taking the lead through Luke Cundle in the 54th minute, Millwall were reduced to ten men just five minutes later, as Zak Sturge was sent off for a last-man foul.

It was one-way traffic for the visitors from then on, and Mathias Jorgensen made the key impact from the bench. He bagged himself a brace to complete the turnaround, and condemn Millwall to their tenth league defeat this season. Prior to that loss, Millwall were on a strong run of form, with six wins in their last seven matches. They will hope to recover that level of performance as we approach the run-in.

📔 Ipswich v Millwall Formation & Team News

Millwall will be without Sturge this weekend, while Alfie Doughty also remains out through injury. Cundle will hope to displace Macaulay Longstaff on the wing, after he was on the scoresheet last time out, while Josh Coburn should continue to lead the line. Barry Bannan has established himself as a key starter in midfield alongside Billy Mitchell, and Alex Neil is likely to go with an unchanged back four this weekend.

Ipswich also have issues at left back, as their regular starter Leif Davis has picked up a three-game suspension. Ben Johnson made his first start since November last time out, but he chipped in with an assist, so should keep his spot in the eleven. Wes Burns has suffered another injury setback - he was introduced at half-time for Sindre Egeli at the weekend, but was substituted just 30 minutes later. As some consolation, Jaden Philogene-Bidace made his long-awaited return from injury, and he could be in contention to start here.
