Monaco v Nice Best Bet Preview

Fuelled by a passion for sport and a sharp instinct for uncovering patterns in data, beating the bookies became the perfect outlet for my competitive streak. Now I take pleasure in sharing my finds with ABC punters. I enjoy finding niche angles and betting value in a range of markets and leagues, my favourite being in Serie A.
Monaco’s six league matches to date have produced a remarkable 24 goals - more than any other side in Ligue 1; meanwhile, their home games have averaged an astonishing 5.33. Nice’s away matches boast a comparably impressive rate of 4.50 goals.
Recent meetings between these sides suggest we should also expect a heated affair, with red cards being shown in each of the last three. Those games have seen the referee award an average of just under 30 fouls and eight cards.

📈 Monaco v Nice Form & Stats
Monaco have made a lively, but unpredictable start to the campaign, taking four wins from their opening six league fixtures, but tasting defeat in the other two. Their most recent setback came against Lorient, a 3-1 loss that was turned on its head after Thilo Kehrer’s early red card left them exposed.
If the domestic story has been one of inconsistency, their European outings have certainly followed suit. A 4-1 humbling at the hands of Club Brugge highlighted their defensive fragility, yet just days ago, they fought tooth and nail to hold Man City to an impressive 2-2 draw.
The one constant, however, has been goals. Over 2.5 Goals has landed in seven of their eight games so far, averaging 4.13 per 90.
Nice had also struggled for consistency, but it looks like they’ve finally settled into a rhythm now, albeit not a good one. Nice’s first five games of the season saw them alternate between wins (2) and losses (3), but their recent form makes for pretty grim reading.
Nice have suffered three defeats in their last four games, managing only a draw against Paris FC over this period. Even then, they were poor value for the point; meanwhile, they looked flat in their Europa League clashes with Fenerbahce and Roma.
That said, they did, however, manage to find the back of the net in all four of those games, rendering BTTS another interesting option.
