📊 Netherlands Euro 2024 Data
👕 Player Best Bets
🚀 Shots
Ronald Koeman’s side rank inside the top five for shots taken at this tournament. They average 14.80 shots per game although their shots on target average is just four. The Dutch only fired off 11 attempts in the quarter-final v Turkey but had as many as 24 v Romania. Shots can depend on gamestate and the scoreline but the Netherlands do have a reputation for shooting freely.
Players to watch out for in the shots market for the Netherlands are the duo of Memphis Depay and Tijjani Reijnders. Depay has only scored one goal in Euro 2024 but averages 3.40 shots per game and has been rather wasteful. Reijnders averages exactly two shots per game and can go under the radar in this department.

🛑 Fouls
Virgil van Dijk has been the biggest foul culprit for the Netherlands during this tournament. He has racked up a hefty 2.4 fouls per 90, which is quite a high rate for a centre back. He now has an extremely tough matchup against Harry Kane who is a total foul magnet (fouled 2 times per 90 at the Euros). Virigl van Dijk is a major candidate for multiple fouls here. Denzel Dumfries is another defender to watch out for in this department, averaging 1.80. Both forwards Memphis Depay and Xavi Simons usually press hard and are likely to give away at least one cheap free kick. England are the most fouled team at Euro 2024 with opponents averaging 14.60 against them per 90 minutes. This is significant and the likes of Harry Kane and Jude Bellingham will especially go looking for free kicks.
The Netherlands have managed to avoid any suspensions so far. UEFA tournament rules now mean that the slate is wiped clean for all players. A total of eight individuals have been carded and a yellow card won’t matter to anyone here unless it eventually leads to a sending-off. With everything on the line we can expect some desperate measures and cynical fouls. Considering Denzel Dumfries and Virgil van Dijk have been racking up significant fouls they would be the most likely to pick up another card each. Perhaps experienced campaigners like Wout Weghorst and Nathan Ake could be contenders to ‘take one for the team’ as well.

🩹 Fouls Won
There are a quartet of players who have been fouled at least once on average per game in this tournament. Donyell Malen tops the list (2.0 per 90) although has seen limited minutes. Memphis Depay and Cody Gakpo are both difficult players to contain and it’s no surprise to see them rank high on the list of fouled Dutch players.
Denzel Dumfries is a very dynamic wing back and it’s no surprise to see him draw one foul on average in each contest and the Netherlands could target the England left-hand side, which is an obvious weak point. Xavi Simons might also end up on that side of the field and is another Dutch player who has been fouled once per game on average.
✅ Fouls Won Market Best Player: Donyell Malen
📖 Route to the Semi-Final
The Netherlands started Euro 2024 as one of the mid-ranked favourites around the 20/1 mark. They were located in a tricky group containing France and they were not a team on anyone’s list to reach this far after they lost to Austria 3-2.
However, a comfortable victory against Romania followed by a come-from-behind success against surprise package Turkey propelled them into the semi-finals.
They are the only team remaining in the tournament yet to play extra time, so from a physical perspective they could have an edge.
