📂 Leeds v Nottingham Forest Cheat Sheet
📈 Leeds v Nottingham Forest Form & Tactics
Nottingham Forest were able to hang on against Crystal Palace last time out, despite the game turning against them after a red card. Neco Williams’ first-half dismissal for a handball left them with a mountain to climb, and Ismaila Sarr converted the penalty to put them under immediate pressure. Going into the second half with ten men, Forest were largely pinned back, and it was a backs-to-the-wall performance from Sean Dyche’s men. While a draw does little to alleviate their relegation concerns, it was a point they probably would’ve taken in the circumstances.
Prior to that, Forest produced a much more assertive display in Europe, dismantling Ferencvaros at the City Ground to close out the Europa League group stages on a high. They finished 13th in the overall standings, which now sets up a two-legged playoff tie against Fenerbahce.
Leeds have had no midweek fixtures to contend with, but their domestic season has been underwhelming overall. Since October, the Whites have been stuck in the bottom five. However, there has been an upturn in results since December. A record of four wins, five draws, and just two losses from their last 11 league matches suggests they are becoming harder to beat, and they will hope to keep their positive form up.
📔 Leeds v Nottingham Forest Formation & Team News
Daniel Farke can take credit for Leeds’ recent upturn, with his decision to switch to a back three paying dividends. The Whites have looked far more resolute defensively in recent weeks, while still maintaining a consistent threat in the final third.
Dominic Calvert-Lewin has been in encouraging form and should once again lead the line. Lukas Nmecha remains sidelined through injury, while Jaka Bijol is also still in the treatment room, meaning James Justin should remain in the back three.
Sean Dyche has a lot more issues to contend with here, as he was forced into a double change at half-time last weekend. Sels and Callum Hudson-Odoi were the players replaced, with the latter suffering a suspected muscle injury.
Dan Ndoye, Omari Hutchinson, and Nicolas Dominguez will all be in contention to start out wide against Leeds. With Williams suspended, Murillo could shift to left back, while Morato looks set to be recalled.
