PDC World Darts Championship Day 6 Accumulator Tips
🎯 Tomoya Goto Over 2.5 180s v Mickey Mansell
📈
Odds: 1.57
Mickey Mansell and Tomoya Goto take to the stage for Friday night’s opener at the World Darts Championships. Northern Irish ace Mansell first appeared on the world stage back in 2010, while Goto is back at the Ally Pally after making his debut last year.
While Mansell is the worthy favourite in this round one tie, he is unlikely to have things all his own way against Japanese star Goto, who stands out to hit three or more 180s during this game. The 28-year-old caused a bit of a stir on the world stage last year by sending Ian White packing. He won that game 3-1 and also came out on top in the maximum battle, hitting seven to White’s six. While Goto’s journey would come to an end in round two against Ryan Searle, he delivered a further four 180s when bowing out of the competition.
It’s also worth noting that Goto came out on top on the 180 front against Rob Cross at this year’s Bahrain Darts Masters, hitting three without reply. Thus, Goto looks worth getting behind to cover the over 2.5 maximums line in his round one match with Mansell.
🎯 William O’Connor to Win v Dylan Slevin
📈
Odds: 1.50
William O’Connor and Dylan Slevin meet in an all-Irish affair in the first round of the World Darts Championships on Friday night. O’Connor has become a mainstay on the world stage, while Slevin returns to the Alexandra Palace following his maiden outing 12 months ago.
Experienced campaigner O’Connor is expected to come through this clash and he should have enough in his locker to secure a round two date with Dimitri Van den Bergh. ‘The Magpie’ has appeared in each of the previous seven editions of the PDC’s flagship show, progressing beyond the first round on each respective occasion. The 38-year-old is a dogged competitor but he can back that up with some heavy scoring, evidenced by the fact that he has averaged a mightily impressive 93.62 this year. On top of that, O’Connor has racked up a very respectable 180 return of 230 along the way.
While Slevin won’t go down without a fight, he could be thwarted by streetwise O’Connor. The 22-year-old fell at the first hurdle last year against Florain Hempel and he looks set to suffer the same fate against his fellow Irishman this time around.
🎯 Michael van Gerwen to Win & Highest Checkout v James Hurrell
📈
Odds: 1.67
Michael van Gerwen will make his eagerly-anticipated arrival at this year’s World Darts Championships when he takes on James Hurrell on Friday night. ‘Mighty Mike’ should ease himself into the tournament with a win but he is unsurprisingly too short to support as a single selection. An alternative is to back van Gerwen to emerge victorious alongside hitting the highest checkout of the game.
The Dutch destroyer remains as deadly as ever on the outer ring. He hit a spectacular 160 finish at last month’s Players Championships Finals, while he also landed three figure outshots in two of his three outings at the Grand Slam of Darts.
While van Gerwen will have been disappointed to have exited the World Darts Championships at the quarter-final stage last year, the Dutchman did deliver the highest checkout in three of his four assignments, including his round two and three successes.
With the ‘Green Machine’ expected to win the majority of legs in each set against rank outsider Hurrell, it makes sense to side with van Gerwen to get the job done alongside landing the highest checkout of the game.
