In Roma’s last match, they breezed past Lecce in a comfortable 2-0 win, creating 1.88xG and conceding no more than 0.58 at the other end.

It was the Giallorossi’s 8th clean sheet of the season, reinforcing their impressive defensive record, which has seen them concede just 12 goals to date - the fewest of any side in Serie A.

The victory was particularly significant given Roma’s shaky run of form, in which they’d suffered four defeats across their previous six league outings. Sassuolo enter this clash having gone winless in five, recording three draws and two losses over that stretch. 

Last time out, they suffered a 3-0 defeat at the hands of Juventus, in what was arguably their worst display of the season. Sassuolo shipped 2.53xG but created a mere 0.23 themselves - their worst turnout to date.
