OIS v Brage
🏟
Saturday 1st October – 2:00PM KO
These are two sides at opposite ends of the Superettan table with two very different aims for the rest of the 2022 campaign, with just six games to go in the season.
Orgryte IS come into this sitting third-from-bottom and occupying the relegation/promotion playoff place. The home team have now suffered three successive defeats and their most recent outing was a 1-0 defeat at home to bottom-of-the-table Ostersund a couple of weeks ago, prior to the international break.
Their poor form throughout the season is shown by a lack of attacking intent. For example, they have drawn too many matches with five victories being the joint-fewest with Vasteras and the aforementioned Ostersund but seven teams have lost more games than them, too.
They now face a Brage side that head into the Swedish second division run-in with ambitions of gaining promotion to the top-flight of Swedish football for the first time since 1993.
The visitors have had some inconsistent form as they have given up ground on the top two, Brommapojkarna and Halmstad. However, they sit third and in the Allsvenskan/Superettan relegation/promotion playoff with six games to go.
That position is a shaky one, though, with them only being above challengers Osters on goal difference and just one point ahead of Trelleborg, three ahead of Skovde.
Despite their inconsistency, the motivation of finishing third should help Brage to focus on getting back on the winning track after their 2-1 loss at home to Trelleborg the other week. Given that, as well as playing against inferior, struggling opposition, this one should be an away win.

Ostersunds v Halmstad
🏟
Saturday 1st October – 2:00PM KO
These are two sides that were both relegated last season but, ahead of this weekend’s round of fixtures, the two teams are at opposite ends of the table and have endured/enjoyed extremely different campaigns. However, the two teams are actually in fairly good form.
Financial and off-field issues have blighted Ostersund for much of the last half-a-decade after the era of Graham Potter. That saw them get relegated from the 2021 Allsvenskan sitting at the bottom-of-the-table.
The squad has disintegrated, and they have spent much of this season at the bottom. However, under the management of Magnus Powell, they have begun to fight in the second half of last season. The hosts come into this on the back of a slender 1-0 win against struggling rivals OIS in their most recent outing, before the international break.
That made it back-to-back victories for Ostersund and they are now two points off OIS in the promotion/relegation playoff and are fighting to gain automatic safety.
They now face a Halmstad side that, under the management of Magnus Haglund, sit at the top-of-the-table. They are a point clear of Brommapojkarna but were well clear before some indifferent form in recent months.
Despite that, they are 11 points clear with 18 to play for of third place and the visitors are expected to confirm automatic promotion soon. Given that both teams need results for different reasons, as well as the fact they are in good form, this should be an entertaining game for the neutral, as well as intriguingly important.

Landskrona v Dalkurd
🏟
Saturday 1st October – 2:00PM KO
As ever in the Superettan, we like to look at the teams at opposite ends of the table because the market tends to undervalue form in Sweden’s second-tier. Given that, let’s preview a game between an in-form side in the top-half and one that appear destined for relegation to the third-tier and the regional leagues.
Landskrona come into this on the back of an entertaining 3-2 win at home to Norrby in their most recent outing, a couple of weeks ago, before the international break. The home team have won three of their last four matches and begin this weekend’s round of fixtures sitting at the top-half of the table.
They have been relatively entertaining in their 24 games so far this season with comfortably more than a goal scored and conceded per game on average throughout the campaign.
They now face a Dalkurd side that sit firmly at the bottom-of-the-table ahead of this weekend. However, they did get a much-needed victory last weekend to give them some hope of challenging with Ostersund, OIS and Vasteras.
Their most recent outing was an impressive 4-1 hammering of Utsiktens a couple of weeks ago and it was no fluke as they absolutely dominated throughout the match. That did come against very out-of-form opposition though and they had suffered six successive Superettan defeats prior to that.
Despite that much-needed win for the visitors to stay in touch, this is not expected to be a very close contest and the home team come into this one as the firm favourites.

Prediction: Landskrona to Win, 1.87 on Betfair (⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️)
Osters v Brommapojkarna
🏟
Tuesday 4th October – 6:00PM KO
This one should be very entertaining for the neutral as it is between two of the strongest and highest-scoring sides in the 2022 Superettan.
Under the management of Srdjan Tufegdzic, Osters finished the 2021 season well and the supporters’ expectation were to mount a serious and sustained challenge for the top three. The four-time Allsvenskan winners believe they belong in the top-flight of Swedish football.
The home team do come into this on the back of a 2-0 defeat against league leaders Halmstad in their most recent Superettan outing, before the international break. That made it three losses in their last four matches across all competitions. However, they are still challenging Brage for a place in the promotion playoffs.
They now face a Brommapojkarna that have been absolutely relentless over the last couple of months. Christer Mattiasson’s side were only just promoted from the third-tier last season, and it appears just a matter of time before they confirm their automatic promotion back to Sweden’s top-flight.
The visitors’ most recent outing was a 2-1 win away at Jonkopings Sodra a couple of weeks ago and that made it nine successive victories across all competitions, and they are unbeaten in their last 13 games with just one defeat in their last 16. During their run they have been entertaining with 52 goals in 24 games. This should be an entertaining encounter.
