Competition: Premier League

Having passed their first ‘real test’, Liverpool’s second now awaits them as they make the trip to London to face Arsenal in an enticing top-of-the-table clash. It looks like the hosts will be missing a few key players, particularly in defence, which could open this game up, making for a mouth-watering affair.
⭐ Arsenal v Liverpool Best Bets
David Raya has made three or more saves in five of Arsenal’s eight league games this season, with the only exceptions being against Bournemouth, Southampton, and Leicester. In two of those matches, Arsenal conceded twice, suggesting the defence isn’t exactly impenetrable.
They’ll be without lost Saliba, Calafiori, and potentially Timber due to injury/ suspension, leaving them pretty short-handed in defence.
Liverpool, meanwhile, have forced the opposing keeper into making at least three saves in seven out of their eight league games, including each of the last five.

👕 Arsenal v Liverpool Predicted XI
🔍 Arsenal v Liverpool Players to Watch
⚫️ Mohamed Salah
Salah has been in outstanding form this season, totalling 10 goal contributions in the league and averaging 1.3 per 90 minutes. He’s recorded at least one in six of his eight league games, including a goal and assist most recently against Chelsea.
Across 16 appearances against Arsenal, Salah has scored 10 goals and provided 2 assists, with his first goal dating back to 2014, when he came off the bench to score Chelsea’s sixth in a 6-0 victory over Arsenal.
If Timber hasn’t recovered in time, Salah will likely face Zinchenko at left-back—a matchup we’ve seen before and one that tends not to end favourably for the Ukrainian.
🔴 Gabriel
Gabriel has taken 12 shots in his 8 games this season, attempting at least one in seven of those outings.
Most of his chances arise from free kicks and corners, and Arsenal are likely to have plenty of these opportunities.
Liverpool are priced at 1.44 to commit 11 or more fouls, whilst the odds suggest Arsenal will win a fair share of corners, priced at just 1.5 to earn 5 or more.
Arsenal have already leaned on set-pieces in high-stakes matches against Tottenham and Manchester City this season, with Gabriel scoring in both.

💻 Arsenal v Liverpool Form and Tactics
Whilst both sides managed three points in their respective midweek Champions League clashes, neither did so in emphatic fashion, and question marks remain, particularly Arsenal, who haven’t put in an assured performance in some time now.
Based on what we saw in their clashes with City and Spurs earlier on in the season, Arteta’s men could go into this aiming to soak up the pressure and hit Liverpool on the counter-attack.
That said, the gaps left in their defence by Saliba’s suspension and injuries for Calafiori, Tomiyasu, and Timber, will either reduce their ability to do this, or perhaps effect a change in their gameplan altogether.
Martinelli looked significantly sharper in midweek than he had previously, and his pace could be invaluable for Arsenal if they do aim to utilise a counter-attacking style of play.
Saka’s return will also be crucial and aside from his obvious ability in open-play, his expertise as Arsenal’s main set-piece taker will also come in handy.
We may see Liverpool uptake a more proactive role, controlling more of the ball and probably operating with a slight bias toward the right side of the pitch, as they aim to exploit the matchup between Salah and Zinchenko/Kiwior.
However, last time out against Chelsea, Liverpool demonstrated they’re equally comfortable off the ball, as they retained just 42% of possession, even at Anfield.
Ordinarily, the pressure wouldn’t necessarily be on Liverpool to drive the game forward given they’re away from home and against one of the league’s best, but given Arsenal’s significant absences, Arne Slot will surely try to seize this opportunity and must know Liverpool could go on to regret not taking advantage of Arsenal while they’re comparatively weak.
