Dani Vivian has committed four fouls across his four La Liga appearances so far this season (1.00 per 90), committing at least one foul in each of those games.

He’ll line up at centre back here for Athletic Club, which means he’ll be in regular duels with Viktor Gyokeres, who has proven to be quite a handful in the Premier League with seven fouls won across his four appearances in the English top-flight (2.05 per 90).

Vivian averaged 0.93 fouls committed per 90 across his 32 La Liga appearances last season and received three yellow cards throughout the campaign. His regular tangles with Viktor Gyokeres should see him contest enough duels here to commit at least one foul in this encounter.

Nico Williams is set to miss this game through injury which leaves his brother as a reliable option to cause Arsenal some problems and get a shot away here.

I. Williams has had 10 shots across his four appearances in La Liga so far this season (2.78 per 90), with the 31-year-old having at least one shot in each of those matches. 

The Ghana international has been the model consistent performer for Athletic Club in recent years. He’s hit double digits for goals in each of the last three seasons and has made nearly 500 appearances for the club, scoring 110 goals across those games.

Inaki Williams averaged 2.14 shots per 90 across his 35 appearances for Athletic Club last season, so one effort should be well within his reach here. He had 28 shots across his 12 Europa League appearances last term (2.64 per 90).

Gabriel is a constant shot threat for Arsenal from set pieces which may prove to be a reliable route to goal for the Gunners, seeing as Athletic Club can be really tough to breakdown in open play.

Gabriel had two shots against Nottingham Forest last time out and has also had shots against Leeds and Liverpool in the Premier League this season. The Brazilian centre back had 22 shots across his 28 Premier League appearances last season (0.84 per 90), making him one of the most likely centre backs in the entire league to have a shot in a game.

This record is even more impressive when looking at his numbers in the Champions League last season. Gabriel had 10 shots across his nine appearances in the competition (1.12 per 90), which further illustrates his high chances of getting a shot away here.

As well as being able to test David Raya, Athletic Club should be able to break the stubborn backline of Arsenal, as a side that are incredibly strong at home. Athletic Club have failed to score in just one of their La Liga games so far this season, which was last time out against Deportivo Alaves. 

Athletic Club won 11 of their 19 home games last season and scored 32 goals across those fixtures (1.68 per game). Arsenal have kept three clean sheets from their four Premier League matches to start the season, but this is likely to be their toughest assignment so far, with fatigue also starting to be a factor from this point in the season onwards. 

Athletic Club will have to make the most of the opportunities they have in their home games during the league phase of the Champions League, their away games are against Dortmund, Atalanta, Newcastle and Slavia Prague, so it’s important that they carry a threat in their home matches.

Madueke has been really bright for Arsenal in the absence of Bukayo Saka and could be in line to register his first goal contribution for the Gunners here having created five chances against Nottingham Forest last time out.

Madueke is a player who looks to take on and beat his man on every occasion which makes him a really dangerous player, especially against static low blocks which can keep the game quite predictable. 

He’s had three shots and created eight chances in the Premier League so far for Arsenal and the early signs are that his chance creation, in particular, will give him a great opportunity to pick up goal contributions. 

Madueke registered 15 goal contributions across his 46 appearances in all competitions for Chelsea last season, which should be a record he looks to better this campaign.

Yuri Berchiche lines up as a left back for Athletic Club and was shown a yellow card when these sides met in a pre-season friendly a few months ago. He won’t be up against Bukayo Saka as he was on that occasion, but Noni Madueke should still be able to cause him problems.

Berchiche is 35 so he doesn’t quite have the mobility or speed to be able to keep someone like Madueke quiet for the entire 90 minutes. He will be beaten at times by the English winger which is where he can be at risk of collecting a booking.

Berichiche collected five yellow cards across his 22 starts in La Liga for Athletic Club last season - only Beñat Parados collected more bookings (seven) than Berichiche for Athletic Club last season.

It’s no secret that set pieces and corners, in particular, are a massive part of Arsenal’s strategy. I think their ability to score from those situations could be crucial in a potentially awkward encounter for Mikel Arteta’s side.

Arsenal had eight corners against Nottingham Forest last time out and also racked up eight at Anfield as they fell to a 1-0 defeat to Liverpool. They fell short of this line in their games against Leeds and Manchester United, but their performances when it comes to the corner count in their last two games would suggest that they should reach at least five for Arsenal here.
