Bayern Munich have been the most successful club in the DFB Pokal, with 20 titles to their name.

However, the Bavarian giants have interestingly not won the competition since 2020, so they will look to break their duck this season.

They host RB Leipzig at the Allianz Arena on Wednesday night for a spot in the semi-finals.

📈 Bayern Munich v RB Leipzig Form & Tactics

Both sides were involved in Bundesliga action last Sunday and were able to secure maximum points. Bayern Munich were much more convincing in their game, led by Luis Diaz, who scored a hat-trick. Harry Kane accounted for the other two goals, as the Bavarians were able to take advantage of an early red card. Kevin Akpoguma was sent off for a last-man foul after just 17 minutes, meaning Bayern didn’t really have to break a sweat.

Vincent Kompany’s men had failed to win their last two Bundesliga games before that win, as they were held to a 1-1 draw by Hamburg, after suffering their first league defeat against Augsburg. Still, Bayern are comfortably top of the league standings, with a six-point gap over Dortmund.

By contrast, RB Leipzig were much less convincing at the weekend, and they really had to hold on to their slender lead. Christoph Baumgartner played a key role, contributing two goals as the Red Bulls beat Koln 2-1 on their travels.

Leipzig had been on a bit of an inconsistent run before that, having won just one of their previous four matches, so it was a much-needed three points. With no European fixtures for the Red Bulls this season, the DFB Pokal is their only realistic chance of silverware, so they should go with a strong eleven midweek.
