- Blackpool v Huddersfield
- League One
- 15:00
Huddersfield have won both games so far, whilst Blackpool have lost both.
The Terriers have scored two or more goals in all three competitive games this season, whilst Blackpool have conceded two or more in both league games.
Ben Wiles scored eight goals last season in a struggling side and has already had five attempts this term.
Two well-fancied teams meet on Saturday, having got off to contrasting starts; the home side, Blackpool are winless, and Huddersfield top the embryonic table.
The bookies can’t split them, with both sides priced at 2.63 for victory, whilst the draw is 3.4. I think they’ve got it wrong and should have Huddersfield closer to 2.0 than 3.0.
Looking at the goal line, under 2.5 goals is at 1.8, whilst over 2.5 is 2.0. Again, I think this is wrong and would have the prices the other way round, given that three of the teams' four games have seen three goals or more.

🟠 Defensive Frailties for Seasiders
Despite having a Premier League-winning centre half in the hotseat in Steve Bruce, Blackpool have struggled to keep opponents out so far this season. Two goals conceded against Stevenage and three v Exeter, neither side known for their goalscoring exploits, will have the former Huddersfield boss worried.
They were suggested as dark horses by many after impressive early recruitment, ironically in defensive areas with Michael Ihiekwe and Fraser Horsfall, but do not appear to have gelled as of yet, which is reflected in the highest xGA in League One (4.9).
🔵 So Far, So Good for Grant
Lee Grant is making this managerial lark look pretty simple so far, two wins, five goals sco,red and 0 conceded. His side also knocked Championship side Leicester City out of the Carabao Cup on Wednesday night, despite making nine changes from their league game.
Grant worked with Ipswich’s attackers throughout his time working under Kieran McKenna, so it’s perhaps no surprise that Huddersfield are tied at the top for xGF, shots on target and big chances created.
📊 Blackpool v Huddersfield H2H
These two sides were both in League One last season. Blackpool won 2-0 at Huddersfield in September, whilst a 2-2 draw was played out in the return fixture in January.
