These sides faced off as recently as the 8th March and contested a four goal thriller which ended in a 2-2 draw. That clash saw a combined xG of 4.44 (2.94-1.50), setting the stage for another encounter which can see goals at both ends.

Brugge are chasing down USG in the Championship group of the Belgian Pro League, sitting just one point behind the league leaders ahead of kick off. They’ve seen BTTS in each of their last five matches across all competitions, which includes that 2-2 draw with Anderlecht. Their 15 home games have seen 53 goals this season (3.53 per game), with Brugge losing just two of these matches.

Anderlecht haven’t been the strongest on the road in the Belgian Pro League this season, winning just four of their 15 away matches. They have still carried a decent goal threat across these games, netting 18, but the 25 goals they’ve conceded across these matches has led to an unsustainable away record.

This is the biggest game of the season so far for Den Bosch, who sit just one spot outside of the playoff places, with four points keeping them from PSV ahead of kickoff. If Den Bosch were to lose here, it would be really challenging for them to mount a push for the playoffs in the remaining three games of the season.

Almere are one of the sides trying to stave off the threat of Den Bosch, though they are probably just out of reach now, with nine points separating the sides. However, the chaotic nature of the Eerste Divisie would suggest that even this cushion is not a guarantee from this stage of the season - offering plenty of motivation for both sides to end up on the scoresheet. 

The initial league meeting between the sides produced seven goals as Den Bosch came away 5-2 winners. Almere did go down to 10 men in the final 10 minutes of that game, but it does show the willingness of both of these sides to get forward. Den Bosch have seen BTTS in four of their last five matches across all competitions, winning their last two matches.

Barnsley just can’t keep a clean sheet at the moment, they’ve failed to keep the opposition out in each of their last 24 matches - most recently drawing 1-1 with Burton on the road. They’ve only kept two clean sheets all season in League One, unsurprisingly, the worst record in the division.

This lack of defensive solidity has forced Barnsley to be a strong attacking side, netting 60 goals across their 38 matches in League One this term - more than seven of the 12 sides above them in the division. They managed to come away 3-1 winners over Plymouth when the sides met earlier in the season, with that game seeing both sides register an xG in excess of 1.0 (1.30-1.21).

Plymouth have plenty of motivation to get on the scoresheet, they’re hunting down a spot in the playoffs and could move level on points with Reading, who occupy that final spot at the moment, with all three points in this clash. Plymouth have seen BTTS in each of their last two matches, including a 2-1 defeat to Bolton on Good Friday.

I’ve loved betting on the Eerste Divisie this season, it’s just bonkers week after week. The initial league meeting between these sides produced four goals and saw BTTS as De Graafschap ran out 3-1 winners over Alkmaar - marking the fourth consecutive head-to-head meeting since 2024 that has seen BTTS.

Alkmaar are still battling away in the division, despite being quite a way off the playoff spots. They’ve seen BTTS in four of their last five matches across all competitions and their 17 away games have produced 67 goals (3.94 per game). They’ve only drawn two of these matches, their games on the road tend to be pretty open and end to end, which suits our selection, and will probably suit De Graafschap as well.

The home side have seen 60 goals across their 17 matches in front of their own supporters this season (3.52 per game). They drew 2-2 against Eindhoven last time out, which is perhaps a bit of complacency, as their spot in the playoffs is all but confirmed. That draw marked the fourth occasion across De Graafschap’s last five matches where they’ve seen BTTS - promising another end to end clash here.
