Celtic v Rangers Bet Builder Tips
We’ve put together two bet builders for the first Old Firm clash of the season, level 1 is 4/1, and level 2 is 17/2, and you can also see our Celtic v Rangers betting preview which includes best bets for the match.
4/1 Celtic v Rangers Bet Builder Level 1
🏆 Celtic to win
📈 Odds: 1.57
Celtic won four of the five Old Firm meetings last season and they are red-hot favourites to continue their dominance over their fierce rivals. The Bhoys have made a blistering start to the season, winning each of their four matches so far, banging in 12 goals for good measure.
What’s more, Brendan Rodgers’ side have come out of the traps flying in each of those four victories, evidenced by the fact that they have got themselves in front inside the opening 20 minutes of each of those matches.
While Rangers will represent Celtic’s toughest test of the season to date, Philippe Clement’s side remain a work in progress and their record in this fixture in recent years doesn’t make for good reading.
Bhoys boss Rodgers on the other hand, has ruled the roost in this fixture across both of his spells in charge of Celtic and his side’s high-intensity style should prove too hot to handle for the Light Blues who look set for a fifth Parkhead loss in succession.
🚩 Celtic 6+ corners
📈 Odds: 1.36
Celtic racked up no fewer than 10 corners in a relentless display against Kilmarnock in their opening home game of the season and they look worth backing to earn at least six against Rangers. While the Hoops only managed five flag-kicks in each of their two recent wins over Hibernian, they hit another 10 at St Mirren last Sunday.
Brendan Rodgers’ side were averaging north of 10 corners per-game in their Scottish Premiership home matches last season, a figure they managed to deliver when Rangers last visited Parkhead back in May.
With the continued absence of away fans at Old Firm derbies, a minimum of six corners should be within range for a Celtic side that will be roared on by a raucous home crowd.
🛑 Mohamed Diomande to commit 2+ fouls
📈 Odds: 1.53
Mohamed Diomande is the creative hub of the Rangers team but he also isn’t afraid to do the dirty work when required. The 22-year-old Ivorian has already been booked in two of the five matches that he has started for the Light Blues this season so far.
He committed multiple fouls in each of Rangers’ opening two league games of the season, and he also gave away a free-kick during last week’s 6-0 win over Ross County.
The Gers midfielder seems to have picked up from where he left off last term, as he was averaging 1.63 fouls per-game in the Scottish top-flight during the second half of last season.
Diomande should have a lot of defensive work to get through on Sunday given the swagger that Celtic are playing with at the moment, making him an appealing option to fall foul of referee John Beaton at least twice.
🛑 Greg Taylor to commit 1+ fouls 🔄
📈 Odds: 1.30
Greg Taylor committed two fouls in each of Celtic’s last two Scottish Premiership victories and he looks worth backing to give away at least one free kick on Sunday.
The Bhoys left-back has never been one to shy away from a challenge, highlighted by the fact that he was averaging 1.83 tackles per 90 in the Scottish Premiership last season. That coincided with Taylor giving away an average of 0.78 fouls per-game in the Scottish top-flight last term.
He will have to keep a close eye on Rangers’ Vaclav Cerny, who is a tricky winger with a low centre of gravity and quick feet. The Czech wideman earned Rangers a free kick during last week’s 6-0 success against Ross County.
17/2 Celtic v Rangers Bet Builder Level 2
⏱️ Celtic half time result
📈 Odds: 2.0
Celtic have come out swinging in each of their four matches this season so far and they merit strong consideration to be leading at half-time on Sunday.
Brendan Rodgers’ men have made a habit of hitting the back of the net during the early exchanges of games this season, having struck before the 17th minute in each of their four victories thus far. That in turn has seen Celtic go in at the interval in front in each of the four fixtures they have fulfilled this term to date.
It’s also worth noting that Celtic were leading at half-time in both of their home games with Rangers last season. In fact, the Hoops were ahead at the break in all four of their Scottish Premiership clashes with their Old Firm rivals last term.
⚽️ Over 2.5 goals
📈 Odds: 1.44
Given how freely Celtic have been scoring this season, over 2.5 match goals looks worth supporting on Sunday. The Bhoys have broken the over 2.5 goal barrier on their own in three of their four matches this season so far.
What’s more, each of Rangers’ last two league games have featured a minimum of three match goals, as did 15 of their final 16 league games last season.
It’s also worth pointing out that three of the four Scottish Premiership meetings between the pair last season generated over 2.5 strikes, including each of Celtic’s two triumphs in front of their own supporters.
On top of this, there have been three goals or more in the last four Old Firm derbies at Celtic Park, all of which the hosts have won.
🛑 Callum McGregor to commit 2+ fouls
📈 Odds: 2.20
Celtic’s Callum McGregor tends to thrive and relish the Old Firm occasion and he looks overpriced to commit two or more fouls during Sunday’s latest instalment of this famous old fixture.
The Celtic skipper got on the wrong side of the referee a combined total of five times during the final two all-Glasgow showdowns last season, not to mention he racked up a whopping six fouls when Rangers visited Celtic Park last December.
Even outside this fixture, McGregor has a tendency to give away free-kicks – he was averaging one foul per-game in the Scottish Premiership last season, committing multiple misdemeanours in each of his final four top-flight outings last term.
🚩 Celtic to take the most corners
📈 Odds: 1.36
Celtic were the corner kings in the Scottish Premiership last season and they look well placed to win the flag-kick count against their foes on Sunday.
Brendan Rodgers’ side have won the match corner bet in each of their four outings across all competitions this season, hitting double figures against both Kilmarnock and St Mirren.
They also came out on top on the corner front in both of their home games with Rangers last season, the latter of which they racked up no fewer than 10 flag-kicks.
While the campaign is still in its infancy, Rangers have not been hitting corners with the same regularity of recent seasons. Hearts hit more corners than the Light Blues on the opening weekend of the season and Celtic can follow suit in front of an expectant home crowd.
