Nkunku should be on penalty duty for Chelsea with Cole Palmer expected to be given a rest for this game following a period of poor form for Chelsea’s talisman which offers another route to goal. Maresca has been adamant in his suggestion that Nkunku is not a true number nine and he’s been playing him off the left in recent weeks, with Neto preferred in the striker position, but don’t be surprised to see Nkunku return up front here given his excellent record in the competition.

Nkunku scored and provided an assist in Chelsea’s 4-0 win over Southampton last time out which will give him some momentum heading into this game. Chelsea should be able to provide service to Nkunku considering the volume of goals they’ve scored in the Conference League this season.

Chelsea have won the corner match bet in all six of their games in the Conference League this season. There aren’t many better statistics to emphasise the dominance that Enzo Maresca’s side have had in this competition.

That depth they had in the league phase isn’t as strong heading into this leg, with the departure of players like Joao Felix in January as well as injuries to Nicolas Jackson and Marc Guiu leaving Enzo Maresca with fewer options to call from the bench compared to their league phase.

However, the quality that Chelsea have in their squad should be enough to exert control over this first leg and win the corner battle as a result.
