Chelsea v Copenhagen Bet Builder Tip
🥅 Over 2.5 Goals
📈 Odds: 1.57
Chelsea’s games in the Conference League this season have seen plenty of goals. Enzo Maresca’s side strolled through the league phase, winning all six of their league games and scoring 26 goals in the process (4.33 per game).
This is something that has been showing up in Chelsea’s games recently as well, the Blues have been weakened as a result of injuries to key players which has seen Chelsea see over 2.5 goals in each of their last five games across all competitions – this run includes only keeping one clean sheet, which suggests that Copenhagen could really hurt Chelsea here, even if they are unable to fully come away with the result.
Chelsea’s freescoring nature in this competition paired with their recent record promises goals. Copenhagen are also likely to contribute given the inconsistency currently plaguing the Chelsea backline, they saw over 2.5 goals in both legs of their round of 32 play-off tie against Heidenheim to reach this stage of the competition.
⚽ Christopher Nkunku to Score Anytime
📈 Odds: 2.30
Nkunku has saved his best performances for this competition. Including the qualification tie Chelsea played against Servette, Nkunku has scored seven of his 14 goals this season in the Conference League, which is where Enzo Maresca has trusted him to get the majority of his minutes.
Nkunku should be on penalty duty for Chelsea with Cole Palmer expected to be given a rest for this game following a period of poor form for Chelsea’s talisman which offers another route to goal. Maresca has been adamant in his suggestion that Nkunku is not a true number nine and he’s been playing him off the left in recent weeks, with Neto preferred in the striker position, but don’t be surprised to see Nkunku return up front here given his excellent record in the competition.
Nkunku scored and provided an assist in Chelsea’s 4-0 win over Southampton last time out which will give him some momentum heading into this game. Chelsea should be able to provide service to Nkunku considering the volume of goals they’ve scored in the Conference League this season.
🚩 Chelsea Corner Match Bet
📈 Odds: 1.57
Chelsea have won the corner match bet in all six of their games in the Conference League this season. There aren’t many better statistics to emphasise the dominance that Enzo Maresca’s side have had in this competition.
That depth they had in the league phase isn’t as strong heading into this leg, with the departure of players like Joao Felix in January as well as injuries to Nicolas Jackson and Marc Guiu leaving Enzo Maresca with fewer options to call from the bench compared to their league phase.
However, the quality that Chelsea have in their squad should be enough to exert control over this first leg and win the corner battle as a result.
🏆 Chelsea to Win
📈 Odds: 1.62
Chelsea have strolled through this competition so far and seeing as they’ve exited both domestic cups and will not be getting their hands on the Premier League title this season, this competition represents their only chance of winning silverware and is one they should really be winning given the substantial gap in quality between the Blues and the rest of the sides in the competition.
They’ve won all six of their games in the competition, scoring 26 goals and conceding just 5. Their goalscoring does tend to drop off away from home (17-9) so it’s possible that Maresca’s men save their best performance for the second leg in a week’s time, but the Blues are expected to field a strong lineup which should be enough to get over the line.
Copenhagen have only won three of their eight games in the Conference League this season, they lost the first leg of their home tie against Heidenheim before mounting a comeback in the second leg. They face a real uphill battle here to progress when looking at how impressive Chelsea have been in the competition this season.
