The EFL is notorious for being evenly-matched and hard to call for neutral observers, but we’re very good at doing exactly that. With enormous relegation scraps, battles for promotion and, of course, the jewel in the crown that is the play-offs, the EFL is hugely entertaining and contains the strongest leagues in the world when it comes to the second, third and fourth tiers of one nation.

Most Popular Types of EFL Football Betting Tips
We cover the EFL Trophy, we usually post EFL Trophy Accumulator Tips, which mainly focuses on goals, as it’s notoriously hard to predict winners in that competition.
You can create your own bet from all of the EFL tips that we post, but some of the mainstays here at Andy’s Bet Club are:
Bet Builder: The Bet Builder contains three to six selections for you to choose from. They cover different markets, including player props, with a full write-up of why we have chosen them.
Gem: Our gem bets are single bets that are sent via email each week. Usually lower odds of around evens. Sign up for the mailing list to receive your free gem bet each week.
Best EFL Betting Odds – Which Bookmakers to Use for EFL Betting
These welcome offers stand out among the bookies we regulalry use – the Paddy Power Sign Up Offer, bet365 Sign Up Offer, and Sky Bet Sign Up Offer are all recommended by Andy Robson.
Paddy Power have a wide range of markets for betting on the EFL. If you enjoy betting on goals, cards, corners and handicaps, they have you covered, while their prices are always competitive towards the top of the market. Paddy Power have ‘2 Up You Win’, which means that if the team you backed to win go two goals up at any time, the bet will be settled as a winner, so you don’t have to worry about any comebacks from a two-goal deficit.
Betfair are another great bookie for EFL betting, and they have a feature called ‘Match Odds 90’. This means that goals scored after the clock hits 90:00 cannot negatively impact your bet. If your bet is winning at the time, it will settle as a winner, but you can still benefit from a late comeback if the team you backed to win or draw does so with a goal in the second half of additional time.
Similar to Paddy Power, bet365 offer ‘Early Payout’ if the team you back to win goes two goals up at any point in the match, the bet will be settled as a winner. They also have more options for betting on the Asian Handicap and Asian Goal lines.
Sky Bet does so much for EFL betting and sponsors all three divisions. They have recently introduced the ‘Acca Freeze’ feature, which allows bettors to freeze one selection of their 5+ fold accumulator if the team they have backed to win takes the lead, settling it as a winning leg.

Key EFL Stats & Trends
There are plenty of stats and trends from the EFL last season that we can take into the 25/26 campaign, and help guide our outright bets and weekly match selections.
Premier League Relegation
All 3 newly-promoted teams have been relegated from the Premier League in each of the last two seasons. Sheffield United, Burnley and Luton went straight back down in 23/24 and Southampton, Leicester and Ipswich followed suit in 24/25.
League Two Newly-Promoted Clubs
Since the Fourth Division was rebranded to League Two in 2004, none of the newly-promoted teams from non-league have ever been relegated in their first season at the level. This bodes well for Barnet and Oldham Athletic heading into 25/26.
Best Championship Defence Ever
Burnley smashed records last season by conceding just 16 goals from 46 games in the Championship, 0.35 per game. The previous record was 30.
Double Relegations
In the last two seasons a newly-relegated team to League Two has gone down again and into the National League in their first season in the fourth tier. Forest Green in 23/24 and Carlise in 24/25.
Best Bookmakers for Betting on EFL
The best bookies for EFL betting differs depending on a few factors, including what kind of bet you are placing and how many legs your bet is. Here's an overview of the best bookies per type of bet.
Best for Bet Builders
The main televised games on Sky Sports are the best EFL matches for bet builders as there is a larger amount of player prop markets available.
Best for Accumulators
The Saturday 3pm slot is still a great one for EFL accas. Boxing Day, New Year’s Day and Easter Weekend are especially fun, loads of choice around those fixtures.
Best for Odds
Sky Bet sponsor the league and provide a wide range of markets, bet365 offer void if players does not start and Sub On Play On, while Paddy Power Super Sub provides a similar feature and the player to be fouled market along with Betfair.
Best for Boosts & Free Bets
The bet365 welcome offer provides flexibility with free bets as you can split them up how you wish rather than having to divvy them out in a way that the bookmaker sets.
Sky Bet and bet365 in particular offer a good mix of boosts on the EFL, and with the new TV deal that came into place ahead of 2024/25 there are more matches covered with a wider range of markets than ever before.
Andy Robson Tips
Andy Robson has built a team of EFL specialists, but that does not stop him from casting a shrewd eye over the value in the market. Andy is as sharp as any when it comes to value spotting and often leans on our experts for more on-the-ground insights as they get to more EFL matches across a season than he tends to.
