Bayer Leverkusen v Eintracht Frankfurt

Bundesliga

19:30

Ritsu Doan to Score or Assist

Following the departure of Omar Marmoush and Hugo Ekitike, who contributed a combined 30 Bundesliga goals last season, Frankfurt have had to fill a sizeable void in the final third. Ritsu Doan was drafted in from Freiburg for a fee just shy of £20 million over the summer, and the Japanese international has hit the ground running.

He scored a brace on his debut against Engers in the DFB Pokal, and repeated that feat against Hoffenheim last time out. Although he blanked against Werder Bremen in a 4-1 victory, he did register two shots inside the box, while also creating a big chance which was not converted.

Frankfurt have scored 12 goals from their three games in all competitions already this season, and Doan has been involved in four of those. Last season, he had 10 goals and seven assists in 34 Bundesliga appearances, so he will be relied upon to fill the goalscoring gap upfront.

Marseille v Lorient

Ligue 1

19:45

Aiyegun Tosin to have 2+ Shots

This is the shortest leg of the treble, it takes the combined odds from 4.66 to 6.74, at the time of publishing.

Eli Junior Kroupi finished as Lorient’s top scorer last season in Ligue 2, pivotal to their promotion push, but the youngster has since completed a move to the Premier League (Bournemouth). In his absence, Tosin has inherited a large role in the Lorient squad, to try and replace Kroupi’s output.

Last season, Tosin started just 13 games in Ligue 2, registering three goals and eight assists. He would often look to make an instant impact off the bench, and his average of 2.83 shots per 90 speaks volumes about the confidence he possesses in the final third. This season, he has registered nine shots in Ligue 1 so far - the highest of any Lorient player. Given that he scored in back-to-back games before the international break, he comes into this match in top form.

Considering Marseille’s struggles at the back so far this season, this looks like an easier matchup for the winger to maintain his shooting output.

Sevilla v Elche

La Liga

20:00

Jose Carmona to Commit 2+ Fouls

Newly-promoted Elche could not have hoped for a better start to their top-flight campaign, as they are currently undefeated after three games. That even includes taking a point from the Metropolitano against Atletico Madrid, and three points from Levante last time out. Elche have been more than competitive in La Liga, averaging 59% possession, while ranking fifth for total fouls drawn.

German Valera has been a notable performer, and has actually drawn the 2nd-most fouls out of all La Liga players this season. Operating on the left wing, Valera has drawn 11 infringements from three matches, and he will be up against Jose Carmona on Friday.

Carmona had an average of 1.68 fouls per 90 at home last season, and he has already landed this bet in two out of three La Liga matches this term. With an ideal matchup against Valera, who is excellent at drawing soft free kicks, Carmona becomes a target for fouls once again.
