Bournemouth v Fulham
Kick Off: Monday 14th April at 20:00
Bournemouth host Fulham with both sides still in the race for a European placed finish. Bournemouth have dropped off quite drastically since their positive run of form earlier in the year and now are without a win in their last eight games across all competitions.
Fulham have been brilliant at times this season but have lacked the consistency of the sides sitting above them in the table. The Cottagers are only five points behind Newcastle in fifth place and will be optimistic of their chances of ending the campaign strongly, especially after their 3-2 win over league leaders Liverpool last time out.
⭐ Bournemouth v Fulham Best Bet
Bournemouth have employed the same approach for the majority of their games this season. They are very aggressive off the ball, especially at home with this intense press naturally raising their foul count. However, there are signs that opposition sides are finding a way through this press as we can see from Bournemouth’s recent results but Andoni Iraola has shown no signs of deviating from this approach.
Bournemouth are averaging 13.7 fouls committed per game in the Premier League this season - more than any other side in the league. This showcases directly how their tactical approach leads to a high foul count. This was also the case in the initial meeting between the sides, which ended in a 2-2 draw with Bournemouth committing 16 fouls on that occasion.
This selection in Bournemouth’s last eight Premier League games further highlighting how essential this aspect of their game is to their overall play. This also highlights the frustration surrounding Bournemouth at the moment, which, when combined with the fouls they commit as a result of their high press, should see them commit 12+ fouls in line with their average across the season as a whole.
👕 Bournemouth v Fulham Predicted XI

🔍 Bournemouth v Fulham Players to Watch
⚪ Rodrigo Muniz
Muniz is a really promising young striker who has all the attributes to contribute regularly at this level of football. He’s showcased this talent in recent games against Arsenal and Liverpool, scoring against both sides. He’s averaging 1.71 shots on target per 90 across his 30 appearances in the Premier League this season but only seven have been starts - making the eight goals he’s managed in the top flight this campaign seriously impressive.
⚪ Alex Iwobi
Iwobi isn’t the most prolific when it comes to winning fouls (0.58 fouls won per 90), but Bournemouth’s aggressive approach off the ball should see this average rise. Iwobi was fouled once in the initial meeting between the sides, with Bournemouth committing 16 fouls on that occasion. Iwobi will be up against Adam Smith, who is probably the weakest defender in the Bournemouth defence, making it likely that Fulham will target that side of the pitch, especially with Antonee Robinson also operating on the left-hand side. Smith is averaging 1.02 fouls committed per 90 in the Premier League this season.
