While it wasn’t the most convincing victory for Pep Guardiola’s men, who required a stoppage time winner from Phil Foden, they currently sit 2nd in the Premier League standings, and have their sights set on closing the five-point gap on Arsenal. 

Considering they completed the league double over Fulham last season, the Cityzens look well poised to put some more pressure on the Gunners here. In fact, Man City have won each of the last 18 consecutive head-to-head meetings against the Cottagers, with four of the last five meetings at Craven Cottage ending in a victory to nil.

Fulham have struggled in the tougher matchups this season, losing against the likes of Aston Villa, Bournemouth, Newcastle and Arsenal. Against the Gunners, Fulham put up very little fight, failing to register a shot on target. It seems like a mammoth task for the West London side to take anything from this match, and Man City will hope to press home their advantage.

Despite the scoreline finishing 1-0 against Arsenal back in October, Mikel Arteta’s side were firmly in control throughout, and it was one-way traffic. The Gunners racked up 16 shots and three big chances worth 1.87 xG, conceding just nine shots worth 0.44 xG in return from the hosts. In addition, Arsenal accrued a total of 10 corners, comfortably clearing this line on their own.

While Arsenal have shown an affinity to rack up corners this season, given their proficiency from dead balls, Fulham are averaging an eye-catching 11.84 corners per league game on home turf this season, hitting this mark in five of their six matches in total. 

Man City have had no issues getting to the byline this season, and they have accumulated the 4th-most corners in the Premier League this term. In fact, they have managed at least seven corners in four straight matches heading into this clash.

That includes eight corners against Leeds last time out, as City racked up 18 shots and six big chances worth 3.1 xG. Nico O’Reilly was guilty of missing two of those big chances - both of which arose from corners. 

The 20-year-old has established himself as a key player under Pep Guardiola this season at right back, and will hope to retain his starting spot in midweek. O’Reilly doesn’t hesitate to break forward and join in City’s attacks, while he is also an ever-present threat from set pieces. 

The England international is averaging 1.51 shots per 90 this season across all competitions, and has landed this bet in each of his last eight appearances. Expecting Fulham to opt for a passive approach here, as they did against Arsenal, O’Reilly should be able to progress up the field into promising positions.

Prior to last weekend, Jayden Bogle had drawn four fouls in his last seven matches for Leeds at right back, but he was fouled twice against Man City. In fact, the Cityzens racked up 17 infringements in total, which was their highest foul count of the season so far. 

Jeremy Doku accounted for two of those infringements, meaning he is now averaging 1.12 fouls per 90. Assuming the Belgian retains his starting spot against Fulham, he will likely be up against Kenny Tete, who has drawn the most fouls out of any Fulham player in the Premier League this season. 

The 30-year-old was fouled three times against Spurs last time out, meaning he has landed this selection in nine of his 10 starts this season. Against a player like Doku, who sees a lot of the ball, Tete should see plenty of involvement on Tuesday night, and he has a tendency to go down easily under light contact. 

Sasa Lukic had a game to forget in his last meeting with Man City, as he racked up a total of four fouls, while also conceding a penalty. It was a similar narrative in the reverse fixture at the Etihad, as the Serbian international accrued three fouls - he was incredibly fortunate to escape a booking in both of those matches.  

Lukic has been less fortunate so far this season, and has already served a Premier League suspension after picking up five yellow cards. The 29-year-old has committed more fouls than any other player in the Premier League, despite only starting eight of Fulham’s 13 league matches this season. His average of 3.72 fouls per 90 highlights just how aggressive he is in his challenges, which makes this a market to target. With a need for additional defensive cover against Man City, Lukic looks set to start on Tuesday night. 

Phil Foden looked fired up and back to his best against Leeds last time out, as he bagged himself a brace from a total of four shots. His contributions didn’t end there, as the 25-year-old won four of his nine duels, committing a total of three fouls. No Man City player racked up more infringements than Foden against Leeds, highlighting a trend which has established this campaign. 

Foden is averaging 1.11 fouls per 90 in the Premier League this season - a significant increase on his 0.25 fouls per 90 last season. He has also seen an uptick in tackles, highlighting an increased intensity in his press and overall aggression. 

Last season, Foden was booked twice in just 45 appearances across all competitions for Man City. However, he already has three yellow cards to his name this term after just 17 appearances, making these odds look great value. 

Harry Wilson bagged his third Premier League goal of the season against Spurs last time out, taking advantage of an error from Guglielmo Vicario. The 28-year-old has been an impressive performer on the right wing for Marco Silva this season, and his average of 2.75 shots per 90 is among the highest in the Fulham squad. That average rises to 3.4 shots per 90 when playing at Craven Cottage, as Wilson seems to play with an increased confidence in front of the home crowd. 

He has landed this selection in three of his five starts on home turf this campaign, only failing against Sunderland and Arsenal. However, he racked up four shots in both of those respective games, highlighting how Wilson was able to find himself in promising advanced positions, despite the tough matchups. The Welshman has been a real threat for the Cottagers this season, and will hope to make a difference on Tuesday night.
