Galatasaray host Juventus at the Rams Park Stadium on Tuesday night, hoping to take a positive result back to Italy for the second leg. It’s a difficult matchup for the Turkish side, but they can be a tough team to face on home turf, and Juventus will have to be wary of the intensity they bring from the outset.

📈 Galatasaray v Juventus Form & Tactics

Galatasaray were comfortable in their last match, cruising to a 5-1 win against Eyupspor in the league, extending their lead at the top of the table to six points. With that game taking place on a Friday evening, the Turkish side have had plenty of time to rest and prepare for this upcoming Champions League clash.

It has been a comfortable period of results in recent weeks for Galatasaray, and they should be full of confidence heading into this first leg. Since their matchday 8 Champions League game, Galatasaray have won their last three league games by an aggregate score of 12-1, highlighting their good form. European games have proven to be a step up in quality, but they have been better at home. Galatasaray beat Liverpool 1-0 and also took a point from Atletico Madrid, showing they can compete with elite opponents in Istanbul.

Juventus will have to keep their wits about them here, but they have not been as convincing on their travels in the Champions League. Their only win came against Bodo/Glimt, while Juve also drew 0-0 against Monaco. The Old Lady were held to a draw by Villarreal, allowing the Spanish side to pick up their only point of the league phase.

Juventus were beaten by Inter Milan last time out at the San Siro, although a first half red card for Pierre Kalulu didn’t help their cause.

📔 Galatasaray v Juventus Formation & Team News

Luciano Spalletti will be able to select Kalulu for this Champions League clash, but Khephren Thuram has emerged as an injury doubt after missing out against Inter with a leg injury. Teun Koopmeiners could be set for a recall to partner Manuel Locatelli in midfield, or Fabio Miretti could keep his starting spot. Jonathan David seems poised to lead the line in midweek, preferred to Lois Openda, while Weston McKennie could feature in a more advanced role again, with Emil Holm set to feature at right wing back.

Mauro Icardi started alongside Osimhen last time out, but the Argentine international is likely to drop out here as Galatasaray opt for a more balanced setup. Baris Yilmaz should return on the flank, while Roland Sallai looks set to replace Sacha Boey at right back. Lucas Torreira should also return to midfield, most likely replacing Ilkay Gundogan.
