Julien Stephan’s QPR side travel up to the MKM Stadium with just a solitary win in their last five (albeit an impressive one against league leaders Coventry), meaning they sit very firmly in midtable, just four points off the playoffs in a very congested pack of teams chasing down a top six spot.
Their hosts currently occupy one of those coveted positions, with a healthy six point gap to the chasing pack, even if they have stumbled a little of late.

📈 Hull v QPR Form & Stats
The recent FA Cup hammering by Chelsea was the latest in a run of three games without a win for Hull, including a thrilling 2-3 loss at home to fellow play off chasers Watford.
Prior to that, however, they had built up some real momentum, winning four on the spin (as part of a run of eight wins in 10 league games) to carve a bit of a gap to any promotion challengers beneath them, and at one stage even flirted with the automatic spots.
Whilst that seven point gap to the top two now looks a bit too big of a mountain to climb, this seems to be a very streaky team that when they win, they can get on a roll. If they can tighten up at the back a little (having conceded four goals more than any other top 10 side), then Premier League football could return to the city for the first time in a decade.
Meanwhile, QPR have struggled to gather any sort of momentum of late, with just three victories in their last 12 Championship outings, the aforementioned superb victory over Coventry, alongside hammerings of bottom side Sheffield Wednesday and free falling Leicester.
In amongst that has been a lot of tight games that they have just continually found themselves on the wrong side of. Two injury time goals conceded to lose at home to Wrexham, another very late winner given up to Norwich, and draws at Portsmouth, Stoke and Oxford, where they were able to create very little and not take any of the few chances they had.
