Juventus can keep up their impressive start to the season by seeing off Stuttgart on Tuesday night. Thiago Motta’s team have already beaten both PSV and RB Leipzig across the opening two rounds of the new look Champions League. On top of this, the Turin giants have yet to taste defeat in eight Serie A outings this season, posting a remarkable seven clean sheets in the process.

While there was no shame in losing to Real Madrid on matchday one, Stuttgart would have been bitterly disappointed to have drawn 1-1 at home with Sparta Prague in the fixture that followed. That stalemate forms part of the Reds’ current five game run without a win in all competitions.

They were brushed aside 4-0 by Bayern Munich on Saturday and are now without a clean sheet in their last 10 outings. Thus, Juventus look placed to pick up another three points on Tuesday night.

Atakan Karazor regularly finds himself on the referee’s radar and he should tackle his way into trouble at least once on Tuesday night. The Stuttgart skipper committed two fouls against Sparta Prague on matchday two and he was also reprimanded once against Real Madrid in the game prior to that.

Karazor has also racked up a combined total of 10 fouls across his seven Bundesliga games this season, the most recent of which came against Bayern Munich last weekend. Thus, he will likely relish his direct battle with Manuel Locatelli. The Juventus midfielder has been fouled five times across his last seven appearances, including two in a recent home game with Napoli.

While Josha Vagnoman is not exactly renowned for being a prolific fouler, he looks worth backing to commit at least one on Tuesday night.

The Stuttgart defender was guilty of two offences in his one and only previous appearance for Stuttgart in this season’s Champions League against Real Madrid. The 23-year-old has started four games in the Bundesliga this season, giving away a combined total of three free-kicks in the process.

Vagnoman can expect a stern test on Tuesday night as he will most likely be trying to keep a lid on Juventus forward Kenan Yıldız, who has drawn an average of one foul per-90 across his opening eight appearances in Serie A this season. On top of this, the Turkish teenager was fouled on three separate occasions during Juventus’ 3-1 win over PSV on matchday one.

Maximilian Mittelstadt is expected to come back into the Stuttgart team on Tuesday night, making him an appealing option to commit one or more fouls. The German international has been a frequent offender when it comes to committing fouls this season. Mittelstadt has given away exactly one free-kick in five of his seven Bundesliga appearances this season.

He has also fallen foul of the referee in each of Stuttgart’s opening two Champions League games of the season. On top of this, the left-back sinned during one of his two appearances for Germany during the most recent international break.

Thus, there is plenty of scope for that trend to continue on Tuesday night, especially if Mittelstadt comes up against tricky Juventus winger Francisco Conceicao. The Portuguese livewire has been fouled 10 times across his last four appearances for Juventus.

Look to Dusan Vlahovic to either score or assist against Stuttgart on Tuesday night. The Juventus forward netted twice against RB Leipzig on matchday two and he also registered an assist during the 3-1 win over PSV.

The Serbian has also struck three times over his last three Serie A appearances, so he should be brimming with confidence ahead of this clash with Stuttgart.

The Bundesliga side have found clean sheets hard to come by this season, having failed to silence their opponents in each of their last 10 matches. They have conceded multiple goals in four of those contests, which doesn’t augur well ahead of a trip to the Allianz Stadium. Thus, Vlahovic looks like a prime candidate to either strike or set up a goal against the Reds this midweek.

Anthony Rouault looks like a nice option to give away at least one foul at the Allianz Stadium. The 23-year-old defender has clocked up no fewer than six fouls across his last four Bundesliga appearances. He also prompted the referee to blow his whistle once during Stuttgart’s 1-1 draw with Sparta Prague on matchday two.

Rouault may have to up his aggression on Tuesday night in his attempts to keep the aforementioned Dusan Vlahovic quiet. The Juventus attacker was fouled twice en-route to firing his side to a 3-2 win over RB Leipzig. Vlahovic has also drawn fouls in four of his eight appearances in Serie A this season so far.

Manuel Locatelli has been a serial offender for Juventus this season. The tough-tackling Italian midfielder has committed multiple fouls in four of his seven Serie A appearances this term to date, including each of his last three. He also picked up his second yellow card of the season during Saturday’s 1-0 win over Lazio.

Despite appearing just once and playing for just 57 minutes for Juventus in this season’s Champions League so far, Locatelli still managed to give away a free-kick. As such, a couple of misdemeanours should be well within range from the Juventus man when faced with what is an attack-minded Stuttgart side.

The 26-year-old will almost certainly run into Atakan Karazor in what should be an intense midfield battle. The Stuttgart captain has a real knack for drawing fouls from the opposition, evidenced by the fact that he has been fouled 21 times across his nine Bundesliga and Champions League outings this season so far.

Stuttgart will likely stick to their attacking principles on Tuesday night, making them an appealing option to hit over 3.5 corners. Sebastian Hoeness’ side earned an impressive six corners kick when losing 3-1 away at Real Madrid on matchday one and they have since racked up 10 when playing host to Sparta Prague. On the domestic front, they are averaging a shade under 5.5 flag-kicks per 90 in the Bundesliga this season.

As for Juventus, they have lost the corner count in each of their opening two contests in this season’s Champions League. They conceded four in their home match with PSV, while RB Leipzig managed to hit double that amount at the Red Bull Arena.

It’s also worth noting that the likes of Empoli, Genoa and Hellas Verona have all covered the 3.5 corner line in their respective games with Juventus in Serie A this season.
