📈 Porto v Nottingham Forest Form & Tactics
The international break seems to have disrupted Porto’s momentum, as they were held to a 2-2 draw by Famalicao at the weekend. However, Porto were unlucky to only take a point from the Dragao Stadium, as Rodrigo Pinheiro equalised for the visitors in the 99th minute. Still, Porto are top of the league, with a five-point lead over Sporting Lisbon.
Porto have scored at least two goals in each of their last six matches across all competitions, which shows how strong they are in the final third. Their only blemish in an otherwise impressive Europa League campaign was the 2-0 defeat at the City Ground back in November, and Farioli will be looking for a response from his side on home turf.
Nottingham Forest will have to keep their wits about them here, and they will hope that the 3-0 win against Spurs just before the international break can act as a turning point for them. That was only Vitor Peirera’s second win as Forest manager, and his first in the Premier League this season.
Prior to that, Forest edged past Midtjylland on penalties in the round of 16, in what was an unconvincing performance. However, they deserve credit for completing the comeback after losing 1-0 at home in the first leg.

Vitor Pereira opted for significant rotation in the second leg, almost to suggest that he will prioritise the Premier League over midweek European action. It’s uncertain whether he will go for another rotated lineup here, but Elliot Anderson will definitely be absent from the matchday squad due to suspension. J
air Cunha is also out with an injury, while Chris Wood has returned to training after a lengthy layoff. However, he is likely to need at least a few more weeks to build his fitness up.
Diogo Costa has been a consistent figure in goal for Porto, with Jan Bednarek and Jakub Kiwior expected to partner up in front of him as the centre-back duo. Zaidu Sanusi had to be replaced at half-time last weekend due to injury, so Martim Fernandes could fill in at right back here.
Samu Aghehowa and Luuk De Jong remain out for the Portuguese side, so Terem Moffi looks set to continue up front.
