Level 1 Bet Builder Tip
🟨 Over 4.5 Cards
📈 Odds: 1.53
- Significant rivalry between Aberdeen and Rangers that dates back years. These matches are, therefore, generally highly charged affairs and have the capacity to get very physical.
- Two of the four matches that these teams played last season produced five or more cards, despite the gulf in quality between the two teams being far greater.
- Aberdeen do have the capacity to adopt a physical approach to games, which was underlined as they picked up five cards in their recent draw away to Celtic.
- Three of Aberdeen’s last six games have produced at least six cards.
- Rangers are a team that have been picking up plenty of bookings this season. They have received at least two cards in ten of their last 12 fixtures.
- Referee John Beaton averages 5.4 cards per match in the Scottish Premiership this season. May have to be busy to keep this game under control.
🛑 Slobodan Rubezic to Commit 1+ Fouls
📈 Odds: 1.20
- Aberdeen centre-back Rubezic has been picking up fouls as standard this season. He has played nine Premiership matches this season and has picked up at least one foul in eight of these. Has at least two fouls in three of the last five.
- Will be up against Cyriel Dessers, who will most likely act as Rangers’ No.9. The Nigeria international striker has earned ten fouls this season at a rate of 1.47 per match. In what is likely to be a physical battle, both men are likely to give up free-kicks.
- Played Rangers a couple of times last season and picked up at least one foul on each occasion.
- With the exception of injury or a sending-off, he looks set to play the entire duration of this match. He has not been substituted either for club or country this season, so he should expect to be on for the duration.
🚀 Vaclav Cerny to have 3+ Shots
📈 Odds: 1.50
- Winger Cerny is a man in form, having been Rangers’ most important attacker over the past couple of games, despite struggling to win the affection of the fans. He has scored three goals and generated one assist in the last two games, so his confidence should be high.
- With 2.83 shots per 90 minutes, he posts the highest ratio of shots in the Rangers squad of players who have featured for at least 200 minutes in the Scottish Premiership.
- His role in the team has grown in recent matches. He is on a ten-match streak for club and country when it comes to having three or more shots in a game, which is an incredible record given that he has habitually been taken off around the 70-minute mark.
- Will be deployed to primarily attack Aberdeen’s left, which is their weaker wing given that right-back Nicky Devlin has recently been involved in the Scotland squad.
🚩 Rangers Corner Match Bet
📈 Odds: 1.67
- Although Aberdeen have won more corners than Rangers this season, the Gers have found themselves on a roll when it comes to winning this particular statistical battle with their opponents in recent matches. They have had more corners than their opponents in each of their last five matches.
- The Dons did win more corners than Dundee United at the weekend, but that bucked a recent trend that had seen them fail to have more corners than their opponents in four successive matches.
- Aberdeen have seen their opponents win more corners than them overall this season, although that is slanted by the 18-2 game they had against Celtic in this capacity. They were very defensive in that game and may have a similar type of approach for this fixture.
- Rangers have won more corners than their opponents in the games they have played in league play.

Level 2 Bet Builder Tip
🚀 Tom Lawrence to have 4+ Shots
📈 Odds: 1.80
- Since the defeat to Celtic on September 1, a match he was left out for, Tom Lawrence has been handed the keys to the Rangers attack when he has been fit. This has resulted in the attacking midfielder habitually getting away with a high shot count.
- Lawrence is coming off a performance against Steaua in which he had a season-high six shots, despite playing only 45 minutes. After missing out at the weekend because of injury, he has been cleared to play in this match and is liable to be given a major role.
- Seemed to enjoy playing Aberdeen in the two games he managed against the Dons last season. At Pittodrie, he played an attacking midfield role and managed four shots, including three on target, while in Rangers’ 2-1 Ibrox win in February, he had six shots, including a couple that worked the opposing goalkeeper.
🏆 Aberdeen Double Chance
📈 Odds: 1.67
- Aberdeen have arguably been Scotland’s form team this season, picking up eight wins from their first nine games in the Premiership and showing remarkable resilience to recover from 2-0 down away to Celtic to earn a 2-2 draw in the match that was the exception.
- Posted a decent record against Rangers last season, with the Pittodrie fixture only ending 1-1 after a controversial late penalty was awarded to the visitors. They also won 3-1 at Ibrox, despite playing an overall horrible campaign.
- Rangers have been desperately disappointing away from home so far this season. They have won only once in the Premiership on their travels, while they have managed to score only one goal away from home.
- The record does not improve much when all competitions are taken into account. They have picked up only two wins in six on the road all term and lost their most recent trip, which was against Kilmarnock ten days ago.
🚀 Jamie McGrath to have 2+ Shots
📈 Odds: 1.50
- McGrath has had more shots than any other Aberdeen player in the Premiership this season with 13, working out at 1.69 per 90.
- Posts five multi-shot games from nine starts in the league this season, with one of the games in which he failed to muster at least a couple of efforts on goal a match against Ross County that was cut short in the first half because he was injured.
- The Irishman has positive memories of playing Rangers. Last season, he mustered at least one shot on target in every match, even scoring at Ibrox. In these games, he was being asked to play a more defensive role than he is likely to get in this encounter.
- May well feel that under-fire Rangers right-back James Tavernier is something of a weak link in the visitors’ defence at present, and consequently, he could see a good deal of the ball.
🛑 Mohamed Diomande to Commit 2+ Fouls
📈 Odds: 2.0
- Only Tom Lawrence (13) has committed more fouls than central midfielder Mohamed Diomande’s 12 in the Premiership for Rangers this season. The Ivory Coast midfielder is committing these at a rate of 1.9 per 90 minutes.
- He has committed two or more fouls with a higher frequency than he has committed just one in a match this season. He has five multi-foul games among those which data is available for (league and Europa League) compared to four games when he has given up just a single foul.
- Will be going head-to-head with veteran Aberdeen midfielder Sivert Heltne Nilsen, who has been fouled twice four times in his last eight games. Also possible that Jamie McGrath comes into Diomande’s zone at times. The attacking midfielder has drawn 22 fouls in the Premiership this season – only Hibs’ Lewis Miller has more.
