The Serie A Golden Boot market is a goldmine this year, but unlike the Premier League where punters are spoilt for choice, the value arises due to the lack of strong alternatives to the main candidates.
This paves the way for informed betters to take advantage using each-way bets, aiming to secure value by backing a player who is likely to finish in the top four, while still giving you an outside chance to win big if they manage to come in first place.
Osimhen looks set to leave Napoli with PSG, Chelsea and Arsenal reportedly interested, whilst Scamacca is out for six months with a torn ACL, leaving very few top-tier goalscorers in with a shot.
With that in mind, we’ve delved into a few different angles you could take with our Serie A predictions ahead of this 24/25 season.

🥇 Martinez to Win Golden Boot
The man who needs no introduction and the deserved favourite in the market, Martinez’s league form seems eternal and his being priced anything above evens seems generous.
He stormed to the Golden Boot last season, accumulating twenty-four league goals, 150% of the sixteen Vlahovic in 2nd managed, and also topped the xG charts. Over the summer, Martinez maintained his fine form, putting in some dazzling performances in the Copa America and eventually claiming the Golden Boot with an impressive goal tally of five.
Inter Milan’s fine-tuned system plays into Martinez’s strengths and provides him with frequent big chances in front of goal; in fact, it could be argued their setup largely revolves around him.
One of Thuram’s responsibilities involves dropping back and holding play up to enable El Toro’s marauding runs in behind. In the past, this is a role Martinez operated into the benefit of ex-compatriot Romelu Lukaku.
Despite not being the tallest, Martinez’s spacial intelligence in the box renders him very dangerous in the air, ensuring he gets on the end of the countless crosses launched in by Inter’s attacking fullbacks who’ve recorded the most in the league for each of the last two seasons.
Another factor likely to benefit Martinez and Inter would be the Serie A summer managerial circus, which has led to recent changes at Milan, Juventus, Roma, Napoli and Bologna. It’s always difficult to predict how a player will perform under a new coach with new tactics and setups, arguably making Martinez the only sure thing.
It would be the Argentine’s fourth straight 20+ goal league season and with Inter looking as strong as ever, you simply can’t afford to overlook him in the market.
🏆 Lautaro Martinez to win the Golden Boot
🏹 Vlahovic to Win Golden Boot
With widespread managerial changes across the top half of the league, there are no definites ahead of the next Serie A season however many are anticipating a two-horse race for the Golden Boot with Martinez coming face to face with Vlahovic.
Last season, Vlahovic had his best yet for Juventus, scoring sixteen league goals and in doing so finishing second in the race for the Golden Boot. That’s despite a very lacklustre campaign for the Bianconeri where they scored just 54 goals compared to Inter’s 89. Given that huge disparity, one could hardly expect Vlahovic to launch a realistic threat to Martinez and yet he arguably did…
In terms of xG, Martinez accumulated 19.92 which is only slightly greater than Vlahovic’s 18.16. It’s likely the Serb will be afforded significantly more creative freedom under Thiago Motta who will also place more emphasis on creating chances through possession-based buildup. Both of these should help his case and at 24 years of age, Juventus fans will be counting on him to come good following his big-money move from Fiorentina.
Truth be told it’s difficult to see beyond the Juventus and Inter frontmen to win it, but you can back Vlahovic at much longer odds
Martinez has been priced at 2.75, making backing both a really interesting prospect for punters looking to guarantee a return.
🥇 Dusan Vlahovic to win the Golden Boot
💣 Morata to Win Golden Boot
Although his performances during the Euros may have cast some doubt over Morata’s ability in front of goal, most evidence seems to suggest that was the exception rather than the rule.
In the last few years, the Spaniard has had to fight for minutes, not breaking the 2000 mark since making the move to Atletico two years ago, however when playing, he’s consistently delivered. Last season he averaged 0.71 goals per 90, putting him in the top 6% of strikers in the top five leagues, and third in Serie A.
His 0.61 nPxG per 90 (non-penalty expected goals) ranks in the top 8% and is also more than enough to imply Morata has a strong shot at finishing in the league’s top four goalscorers.
In addition, we saw last season that Milan, even when not competing for the title, are capable of creating plenty of chances and scoring plenty of goals. They ranked second for goals and expected goals, with their issues more so surrounding their defence which conceded the 10th most goals and 12th most xG.
In each of the last two seasons, 15 goals was enough to break into the Serie A top 4. Given that Morata hit this figure last year with just over 1900 minutes under his belt, it’s far from a stretch to suggest he could replicate it once more in Serie A.
