Leverkusen will be looking to finish off the group stages in style when they host Molde.

Bayer Leverkusen’s fantastic 2023/24 season continues as Xabi Alonso’s side are still yet to taste defeat in any competition they have taken part in this season. They sit top of both the Bundesliga and their Europa League group. In Europe, they have won five from five in their group and have decimated the rest of the competition and have secured qualification to the knockouts. The German side have been incredible in front of goal this season and in 22 games in all competitions they have netted 69 goals, which is a season-long average of 3.14 goals per game.

Summer signing Victor Okoh Boniface has been on fire for the Werkself this term, with the 22-year-old Nigerian forward contributing an immense 14 goals and 7 assists in 21 games, averaging a goal contribution a game.

On the other hand, Molde have completed their domestic season, ending the league campaign in fifth place, meaning their only chance of playing European football next season is through winning either the Europa League or the Conference League should they drop down. From a betting perspective for this game, the overs goal market looks appealing.

Games involving the Belgian side have seen 10 goals so far to an average of two goals per game. Domestically though, Union have been controlling, they sit top of the table in Belgium having seen 58 goals across 17 league games for an average of 3.41 goals per game.

With the stats and the current group standings taken into consideration, it seems that going down the route of cheering on goals is the sensible play. At odds of 1.50 on Betfair, over 2.5 goals looks particularly enticing.

The final matchday in Group F in the Europa League sees the two sides who occupy the top two places go head to head. Both Rennes and Villarreal have secured qualification, but each team will be coming into this game with a view of claiming top spot, to avoid having to play one of the teams that drop down from the Champions League.

Despite Villarreal triumphing in the reverse fixture between, it is French side Rennes who currently sit top of the group, having won every game since that loss in Spain. It has been a Europa Conference League campaign to remember for Unai Emery’s Aston Villa side. The Villans sit at the top of their group on 12 points with qualification for the next round secured, ahead of facing Zrinjski Mostar.

It was a shaky start to the group for Villa as they began with a loss away to Legia Warsaw, but since then the Premier League side have not looked back, winning four on the spin to send them top.

Despite twice falling to defeat to group leaders PAOK, 2022 Europa League winners Eintracht Frankfurt have successfully navigated their way out of a Conference League group they were expected to dominate.

Barring the two games against Greek side PAOK, Dino Toppmoller’s side have been comfortable, emerging 2-1 victors over today’s opponents Aberdeen as well as two wins over Finnish champions HJK; 6-0 and 1-0 respectively.

Prior to the weekends shock 5-1 demolition against champions Bayern Munich, Frankfurt were five games without a win in all competitions and it looked as if they would struggle to pick up form going into the winter break.

Aberdeen, meanwhile, have had a disastrous season by their standards, both domestically and on the European stage. In 20 league and European games, the Scottish side have conceded a total of 35 goals for a seasonal average of 1.75 goals conceded per game. Eintracht Frankfurt are value favourites in this one, despite being heavily odds-on.
