Pape Sarr has been out of favour in the Premier League this season, though the marauding midfielder has been turning heads with his performances in the Europa League and the 22-year-old has been averaging a healthy 2.63 shots per 90 in the tournament so far.

Sarr was on the scoresheet in each of Tottenham’s first two group fixtures against Qarabag and Ferencvaros, and the Senegalese’s box-crashing exploits on the continent make him a worthwhile option in the 2+ shots bracket again against AZ.

Top Tottenham prospect Mikey Moore was rewarded with a first senior start against Ferencvaros on matchday two and the 17-year-old be handed another opportunity to impress against AZ Alkmaar.

The homegrown attacker has bags of technical quality, though his skill combined with his slender frame made him a lightning rod for rough treatment in Budapest earlier this month. Moore was fouled a sizeable four times on that occasion and the youngster is backed to draw two or more fouls from his more physically robust opponents again on Thursday.

Richarlison saw ten minutes of action at the weekend in Tottenham’s win over West Ham in his first cameo appearance since August and with his injury woes behind him, the Brazilian could get the nod to start against AZ Alkmaar on Thursday.

When he is fit and firing, Richarlison provides a decent goal threat and the 27-year-old lodged an impressive 1.51 shots on target per 90 minutes in the Premier League last season during a productive campaign. The attacker will be eager to remind everyone of his talents if he starts this week and he represents good value in the 1+ shots on target bracket.

Seiya Maikuma had an uncomfortable outing at right back in AZ Alkmaar’s 2-0 loss at Athletic Bilbao on matchday two of the Europa League group stage and the 27-year-old committed two fouls in his attempts to limit the influence of flying Bilbao winger Nico Williams.

Maikuma was dribbled past six times and was carded for one of his indiscretions during his miserable outing in Bilbao on October 3rd and the Japanese defender is likely to struggle again against Tottenham’s pace down the left flank on Thursday. That makes Maikuma a no-brainer pickup in the 1+ fouls stakes again.

Peer Koopmeiners is the more combative character in AZ’s central midfield pairing and while his foil, Jordy Clasie, tends to pull the strings, Koopmeiners comes into his own when Alkmaar are out of possession when he tackles, fouls and engages in multiple ground duels.

Koopmeiners has given away at least two free kicks in four of his 11 appearances in all competitions for AZ, while the engine room operator attempted four tackles and fouled once in Alkmaar’s loss at Athletic Bilbao on matchday two in the Europa League. Expect Koopmeiners’ defensive burden to be just as heavy at Spurs where he is taken to commit at least two more fouls.

Troy Parrot left Tottenham to seek out better first-team opportunities and the Republic of Ireland international has landed on his feet at AZ, where he has been averaging 1.86 shots on target per 90 minutes in the Eredivisie since the summer.

Parrott, who has also been averaging 1.18 shots on target p/90 in the Europa League, will be desperate to perform against his old employers on Thursday, so expect him to adopt a shoot-on-sight policy in North London. With enough room to manoeuvre, the accurate finisher should be able to land a shot on target here.

Tottenham are sitting pretty on six points after two Europa League group games, though they lost the xGF battle in each of their wins over Qarabag and Ferencvaros, and needed the reflexes of keeper Guglielmo Vicario to succeed on both occasions.

With shuffled Tottenham teams in the UEL leading to some defensive disjointedness, Vicario has had to be at his acrobatic best and the Italian made four saves against Ferencvaros on matchday two and five before that against Qarabag on matchday one. Thursday’s tie against AZ has the makings of another end-to-ender and Vicario could be tested at least three times again in that scenario.

Brennan Johnson’s transformation from scapegoat to Tottenham’s talisman this term has made for compelling viewing and the supremely confident Welshman could add to his impressive early season tally with another strike against AZ Alkmaar on Thursday.

Johnson has notched goals in seven of his last eight runouts for club and country and the 23-year-old was on the scoresheet in each of Tottenham’s first two Europa League group fixtures during that streak.

Backing Johnson to score anytime is more lucrative than backing the winger to either score or assist, though the former Forest star has yet to create a goal this season, so we can aim for the bigger price here.
