Spain have been imperious in their World Cup qualifying campaign, with five wins from five, without even conceding a single goal.

The Group E standings are all but locked in, and there is little to play for on Tuesday night in terms of positions, but La Roja will hope to keep that flawless record intact.

Over 2.5 Goals

The Spaniards were thoroughly in control against Georgia last time out, as Mikel Oyarzabal maintained his excellent form with a brace. He also registered an assist, which was his ninth goal involvement in just five qualifying matches. Ferran Torres and Martin Zubimendi were also on target to secure a comfortable victory for La Roja.

Turkey were equally as impressive in their last outing, securing a 2-0 win over Bulgaria in Bursa. The home side racked up 19 shots and five big chances which amounted to 2.27xG, while the visitors could only muster up 0.31xG in return.

However, Turkey’s only defeat in Group E so far has come against Spain, and it was a damning one. La Roja ran riot in Konya, winning 6-0 on their travels thanks to a hat-trick from Mikel Merino. Spain have enough firepower to clear this line alone, and this could be a daunting task for the Turks.

Over 7.5 Corners

The visitors have every reason to approach this match with freedom. There is little to play for in terms of gaining positions - they are three points behind Spain, but are 14 goals worse off in terms of goal difference. Because of that, they could play with a bit more attacking intent here, there is no reason to be passive and defensive.

Turkey have seen an average of 12.2 corners per game after five World Cup qualifying matches, seeing at least eight corners in all of their matches. While Spain’s average is a bit lower at 10.0 corners per game, this selection has landed in four of their five matches, only failing in round one against Bulgaria.

Even still, there were seven corners in total in that game, so they went incredibly close to hitting this mark.

📈 Spain v Turkey Form & Stats

Led by Hakan Calhanoglu, Turkey find themselves with a strong group of players who have delivered some impressive achievements to their national side over the last year. Following their elimination in the quarter-finals from Euro 2024, Turkey finished second in their Nations League group, and achieved promotion to League A after beating Hungary over two legs.

The Turks were unconvincing during the September international break to start this season, edging out a narrow 3-2 victory over Georgia in round one, before the dismantling at the hands of La Roja, but they have bounced back strongly since then.

The October international break saw Turkey beat Bulgaria and Georgia by an aggregate score of 10-2, while they also cruised to victory last time out.

Spain have simply been a cut above - they won Euro 2024, got the Nations League final and were only beaten by Portugal on penalties, and now they boast the perfect record of five wins from five in Group E, with 19 goals scored and zero conceded.

Luis de la Fuente’s side are a real force to be reckoned with, and they will have their sights set on maintaining their incredible streak - expect the Spaniard to go with another strong starting eleven.
