Racing Santander to Win (v Burgos CF)
🏆
Competition: Spanish La Liga 2
📅
Kick Off: Saturday 16th November at 17:30
While international matches capture much of the attention, Spain’s La Liga 2 offers valuable opportunities, including this clash between league leaders Racing Santander and struggling Burgos CF in Round 15. Racing, currently in first place, welcome a Burgos side languishing near the relegation zone, and all indicators point toward a straightforward home victory.
Racing Santander’s season has been near flawless, with just one loss across 15 matches in all competitions. Their balanced approach – combining a potent attack that averages 1.64 goals per game with a steadfast defence conceding only 0.86 – has seen them pull eight points clear at the top of La Liga 2. On an eight-match unbeaten run, including seven wins, Racing’s consistent form and solid performances make them overwhelming favourites against a struggling Burgos.
In stark contrast, Burgos CF find themselves just three points above the relegation line and are grappling with significant challenges, particularly away from home. Manager Luis Miguel Ramis has yet to find a solution to the team’s inconsistency, hindered by an attack that lacks bite. Burgos has concede an average of 1.43 goals per away game while managing just 0.86 in response. They arrive on the back of four straight-away defeats in the league, with little to suggest that they can turn the tide against a dominant Racing squad.
With Racing’s momentum and Burgos’ struggles, especially on the road, all signs point to a comfortable home win for the league leaders.
Netherlands to Win (v Hungary)
🏆
Competition: UEFA Nations League
📅
Kick Off: Saturday 16th November at 19:45
As the UEFA Nations League approaches its final rounds, the Netherlands host Hungary in what promises to be a fiercely competitive match, with only goal difference separating the two sides. Despite a 24-point difference in FIFA rankings, recent performances hint at a likely Dutch victory when these teams clash on Saturday.
Currently in second place, the Netherlands have won once and drawn twice in their opening four matches, with their home performances standing out. A dominant 5-2 win over Bosnia-Herzegovina in Round 1 and a hard-fought 2-2 draw against group leaders Germany underscore the Netherlands’ attacking prowess on home soil. The Dutch have been consistently clinical in front of their home fans, scoring in 27 consecutive home games. Moreover, they have lost just twice in their last 10 matches at home – both against elite opposition in France and Italy – while consistently overcoming teams ranked below them.
Hungary, on the other hand, has faced defensive struggles, particularly in away games against more formidable opponents. This was evident in their 5-0 loss to Germany in Round 1, highlighting vulnerabilities when confronted with high-powered attacks. Hungary has managed just two away wins in their last seven international fixtures, both against lower-ranked teams, Bosnia and Scotland, who sit 42 and 19 places below them, respectively.
Although their previous meeting ended in a 1-1 draw, the reverse fixture this time around strongly favours the Netherlands, especially given their goal-scoring consistency and home advantage. With Hungary’s defensive frailties exposed by top-tier opposition, the Dutch are well-positioned to secure the win on Saturday.
