Both of these sides have made promising starts to the season and both sit around the playoff places after the first seven games of the season.

It’s been a mixed start to the season for both of these sides who find themselves sitting two points apart in mid-table after seven games.

Maastricht have made a promising start to the season, collecting 13 points from their opening seven games which is a tally that sees them sit in the playoff spots.

They did suffer a bruising defeat against Waalwijk on the road last time out, but that loss saw this selection land as they fell to a 6-1 defeat. They’ve seen BTTS in three of their last five matches, with two of these games seeing BTTS & No Draw.

Helmond have seen BTTS in each of their last five matches, with only one of these games ending in a draw. They’ve lost all three of their away games in the Eerste Divisie this term, but have scored four goals across these games.

That record sets the stage for a home win here, though expect Helmond to offer an attacking threat and get on the scoresheet as they have done often in recent weeks. 

Cheltenham have been one of the surprise packages in League Two so far, sitting 5th after seven matches (3W, 3D, 1L).

They’ve scored two goals per game on average and have seen BTTS land in 7/7 League Two outings.

Chesterfield have scored in 6/7 fourth tier games this term, have seen both teams score in two of their three league away games, and have conceded in five of those seven.

They generated 2.11 xG in an impressive 2-0 win over York last weekend and are more than capable of dominating proceedings at Cheltenham, heading in as clear favourites.

Scotland’s trip to Slovenia on Saturday might not seem an obvious both teams to score selection, but I think there is a strong case for both sides finding the net. 

New Scotland boss Sebastian Pocognoli will be looking to bring his proactive approach to the national side. 

There was no shortage of goalmouth action even before his arrival, with both teams scoring in Scotland’s final four World Cup qualifiers, all of which produced over 3.5 goals. 

The Scots also failed to keep a clean sheet in their 4-1 friendly win over Curacao a few weeks before the World Cup.

As for Slovenia, three of their four matches this calendar year have seen both teams score, including their most recent outing, a 2-1 friendly defeat to Croatia in June. 

Goals at both ends in Slovenia’s two World Cup qualifiers against Sweden only strengthen the case for a repeat in Ljubljana on Saturday.

Wycombe have sprung into life in League One, winning three on the bounce in all competitions after parting company with Michael Duff.

They scored three goals in 47 minutes in a 3-2 win at Leyton Orient straight after the sacking and backed that up with a comfortable-looking 1-0 win at Wigan last time out.

Wycombe have seen BTTS in 6/7 league games this season and they welcome a Reading side who are the 2nd-top scorers in the division, despite having played a game less than most.

Reading had seen BTTS land in three straight games before last weekend and, in Jack Marriott, they have the league’s top goalscorer by three clear goals at this stage, with eight goals in six league appearances already.

The 32-year-old is making up for lost time after a painful few years in and out of the treatment room.

York have maintained a perfect record at home in League Two so far this season, winning all three of their games in front of their own fans - scoring nine goals across these matches.

They welcome a Gillingham side who have only lost one of their opening seven matches, and actually sit above York in the table at this early stage of the season. Gillingham are also unbeaten across their three away games this term, so this won’t be an easy assignment for the home side despite their perfect record.

Both sides have seen BTTS in three of their last five matches across all competitions, and look well set to both find the back of the net in this clash of two sides who will be eyeing a promotion push following their strong starts to the campaign.

Oldham have underperformed to score only eight goals from 11.4 xG so far this season, and goals looks on the cards as they host pre-season title favourites Salford City on Saturday evening in front of the Sky cameras.

There isn’t enough history to make this local match a big derby, but the players and fans will still want to get one over the team from down the road.

Both teams have scored in five of their seven League Two outings this season, and there’s serious attacking firepower arriving with the visitors after a summer of eye-watering spending for the level.

Both sides have also kept two clean sheets from their seven, so despite having underwhelming BTTS records, they’re both capable going forward and unconvincing at the back.

Each of the last four meetings between the sides have seen this selection land.

They have the attacking talent to cause Spain problems, as shown by the six goals they put past France in their last competitive match.

Spain were excellent defensively at the World Cup, but outside of tournament football they may play with a more fluid style.

England scored two or more goals in six of their eight games in the World Cup, and scored 2.75 goals per game in World Cup qualifying.

Harry Kane and Lamine Yamal are the top two favourites for the Ballon D'Or at the moment, every game between now and the award being decided is an opportunity to strengthen their case, it wouldn't be a surprise to see both on the scoresheet.
