Arsenal v PSG
📅
Kick Off: Tuesday 1st October at 20:00
🏆
Competition: Champions League
📺
Watch Live: Amazon Prime Video
Mikael Arteta’s undefeated Arsenal side continue their Champions League campaign with a mouth-watering home clash against PSG.
Fresh from a 4-2 win over Leicester at the weekend, the Gunners come into this encounter with just a single point after being held by Atalanta away from home. PSG, also yet to lose this season, are a couple of marks better off, having beaten Girona a fortnight ago.
⭐ Arsenal v PSG Best Bets
With PSG notoriously weak defending these situations, and particularly the corners that the Gunners have thrived upon, centre-back Gabriel looks outstanding value to threaten the Parisians.
The centre-back has had at least one shot in five of his seven Arsenal starts this term and has managed at least one effort on target in three of his last four, including two goals. A price of 3.50 (bet365) or 3.90 (Unibet) for him to hit the target with a shot looks outstanding, too.
🔍 Arsenal v PSG Players to Watch
🔵 Bradley Barcola
Bradley Barcola made a thrilling return to form for PSG against Rennes over the weekend as he scored two from three shots on target and six overall efforts. He has had shots on target in six of nine games for club and country.
Furthermore, the 22-year-old has hit the target with a shot in six of his last nine Champions League games, including three of his last four – he will be a particular danger if the doubtful Ben White is not fit for Arsenal.
🔴 Riccardo Calafiori
Calafiori will be another significant set-piece threat for Arsenal, which he demonstrated against Leicester at the weekend when he managed three efforts on goal, and two following set pieces.
The Italian leads Arsenal with 1.74 shots on target per 90 among players who have featured for at least 90 minutes. Has had at least one shot in each of his three Arsenal starts, with shots on target in two of these games.
Calafiori is set to play as left-back once again, despite being more comfortable in the middle. He has committed at least one foul in five of his six Arsenal appearances so far, including four against Leicester at the weekend, when he also played as a full-back.
The Italian defender was set to matchup against Ousmane Dembele, however, the Frenchman has been omitted from the squad ahead of Tuesday’s clash. The news means Calafiori is now likely to be tasked with dealing with Lee Kang-in or Marco Asensio.

💻 Arsenal v PSG Form and Tactics
Arsenal have been content to play a reactive role in many of their games this season. They have only had more possession than their opponents in one of their last five games against top-level clubs. In part, this has been due to red cards against Brighton and Manchester City, but away against Atalanta in the Champions League, they were purposefully conservative.
This has meant the Gunners had posted an xG of below 1 in four of five Premier League and European games before hitting a season-high 4.4xG against Leicester at the weekend. In that same period, they leaked more than 1xGA four times yet conceded only three goals. In-form goalkeeper David Raya can be thanked for that.
PSG have had more possession than their opponents in each of their seven competitive games while they have had an xG greater than 2 in all but one of these fixtures. Their dominance is underscored by the fact they have 16.7xG across their competitive fixtures compared to just 4.9xGA.
Arsenal have received the most cards in the Premier League at 3.83 per 90 compared to PSG, who have received the least in Ligue 1 at 1.17. Les Parisiens have also drawn 3.0 cards per 90 for their opponents this term.
