📂 Burton v West Ham Cheat Sheet
📈 Burton v West Ham Form & Stats
It has been an impressive uptick in form for West Ham recently, but they are not quite out of the woods yet. The Hammers are still in the relegation zone, so they cannot afford to let their foot off the gas.
Nuno Espirito Santo’s men have started to click in the final third and have bagged multiple goals in five of their last matches across all competitions. The only game they failed was against Man United last time out, but they still managed to take a point against Michael Carrick’s men.
The main point of struggle for West Ham this season has been their defence, but they were able to keep their first clean sheet since August last weekend. The Hammers can hope they can maintain that level of defensive resilience going forward.
Burton also find themselves in a relegation scrap, but they are two divisions further down, in League One. Unlike West Ham, however, the Brewers haven’t shown any signs of mounting a resurgence - they have failed to win any of their last five matches, with three losses in that stretch.
Their games have been quite open, with BTTS landing in each of their last six League One games. Burton also had the entire week to prepare for this match, while West Ham were involved in midweek action, which gives the hosts some advantage coming into this clash.
📔 Burton v West Ham Formation & Team News
Jake Beesley bagged himself a brace at the weekend, taking his tally to 12 goals for the season. He has been the main focal point for Burton, with five goals in his last six games, and will hope to cause West Ham problems here. Tyrese Shade had to be replaced late on against Port Vale at the weekend, meaning Kain Adom could partner him up front against West Ham.
Pablo Felipe was the only injury doubt against Man United, after he picked up a knock against Burnley. Tomas Soucek started in an advanced midfield spot midweek in his absence and was on the scoresheet, so the Czech international could start again here.
Jean-Clair Todibo will serve the final game of his suspension in the FA Cup, although he may find it hard to break back into the starting eleven, as Axel Disasi seems to have formed a nice partnership already with Konstantinos Mavropanos.
