It’s the start of a new era for Leicester under the interim appointment of Andy King, they will be hungry to get their season back on track after a really inconsistent and ordinary period of results.

A defeat against Oxford saw the end of Marti Cifuentes, Andy King now takes over on an interim basis. Although Leicester have shown signs of life at times, it’s ultimately been a season littered with mediocrity and inconsistency. 

Leicester currently sit 14th in the league after taking 38 points from 29 games. The Foxes will be heartened by the fact they’re only six points off the play-offs, and a good spell of form in the second half of the season will give them a realistic chance of challenging for the play-offs. 

Leicester’s underlying data has been really poor under the departing Cifuentes, they currently sit 23rd in the xG table, on 6.8 points less than they currently have. 

Despite a fantastic start to the season which saw Charlton occupy the play-off spots in early November, things quickly unravelled after that. Charlton have only taken 12 points from their last 15 games, while conceding 27 goals in the process. This is the 23rd worst form in the league over that 15 game period. 

Winning has become a struggle, it’s now just one win in their last seven league games. Even in spite of their win against Sheffield United, they were basically gifted the game because Sheffield United went down to nine men before the break.
