Taylor Harwood-Bellis to Commit 1+ Fouls

Harwood-Bellis has committed 35 fouls across his 33 Premier League appearances this season (1.15 per 90). He’s committed a foul in each of his last five Premier League games and usually plays on the right side of a back three, putting him up against Iliman Ndiaye.

Ndiaye has won 48 fouls across his 31 Premier League appearances this season (1.89 per 90) making him Everton’s most consistently fouled player. Ndiaye was fouled twice in the initial meeting between the sides in which Southampton ran out 1-0 winners.

Harwood-Bellis plays for a Southampton side that are committing 12.3 fouls per game in the Premier League this season. Only Wolves (12.9) and Bournemouth (13.7) are committing fouls more frequently than the Saints in the Premier League this campaign.

Jarrad Branthwaite to be Fouled 1+ Times

Branthwaite has been fouled in each of his last six Premier League matches. He’s had to play a more active role in the Everton backline following James Tarkowski’s injury which was further compounded by an injury to Jake O’Brien, leaving Branthwaite partnered with Michael Keane in recent weeks.

Branthwaite has won 18 fouls across his 29 Premier League appearances this season (0.67 per 90). This is already quite a solid record for a centre back which has increased in recent weeks , suggesting that Everton’s absences at the back are having a material impact on his fouls won record.

He’ll be up against Kamaldeen Sulemana who played upfront for Southampton against Manchester City last time out. He’s averaging 1.42 fouls committed per 90 in the Premier League this season. Branthwaite could also find himself up against Paul Onuachu who is a very physical striker and is averaging 2.46 fouls committed per 90 in the top-flight this term.

Southampton Over 1.5 Cards

Southampton have picked up 88 yellow cards in the Premier League this season (2.44 per game), only Bournemouth (94) and Chelsea (96) have picked up more cautions than the Saints this season.

The away side also commit fouls at a frequent rate, they rank in the top three sides in the Premier League for fouls committed per game (12.3). Southampton lived up to these averages in the initial meeting between the sides which saw the Saints commit 14 fouls and pick up four yellow cards.

Despite being relegated, Southampton have picked up 2+ cards in each of their last two games and have received at least one caution in each of their last five.

Dwight McNeil to Score or Assist

Southampton have the 2nd-worst defensive away record in the Premier League this season. Only Leicester (44) have conceded more goals on the road than the Saints this season (37 - 2.05 per game). Everton have scored 2+ goals in each of their last two games.

Dwight McNeil has been absent for large parts of the season but he’s shown his quality in recent weeks and has still managed a decent goal contribution haul considering his spell on the sidelines.

McNeil provided an assist against Fulham last time out and scored against Ipswich in the previous fixture. He’s provided nine goal contributions across his 19 Premier League appearances, McNeil is a particular threat from corners and set pieces with his pinpoint delivery. McNeil has created 34 chances in the Premier League this season (2.37 per 90).

Mateus Fernandes to be Shown a Card

Mateus Fernandes has picked up eight yellow cards in the Premier League this season - only Taylor Harwood-Bellis (nine) and Flynn Downes (11) have received more cards for the Saints this season than Fernandes.

He’s picked up one booking across his last five Premier League appearances and is averaging 1.45 fouls committed per 90. Fernandes contested 16 duels and was shown a yellow card in the reverse fixture.

Everton to Win

Southampton have only won one of their 18 away games in the Premier League this season, this victory came against fellow relegated side Ipswich. The Saints have lost more games on the road than any other side in the division (14) and will find it tough against an expectant crowd on Sunday afternoon at Goodison Park.

Southampton are without a win in their last 13 games across all competitions, losing 10 of these encounters. Everton haven’t been the most convincing themselves of late but did get back to winning ways against Fulham last time out after failing to win any of their previous three fixtures.
