Both Feyenoord and Celtic will be looking to revive their respective Europa League campaigns when the pair face off on Thursday evening.

The two teams find themselves sitting in the elimination places ahead of this week’s showdown in Rotterdam.

Just one point separates the pair in the league phase standings, with Celtic one point and two places above their Dutch hosts.

Feyenoord have lost three of their last four matches in the Eredivisie, while Celtic, in contrast, have won each of their last three Scottish Premiership matches.

📈 Feyenoord v Celtic Form & Stats

Feyenoord made a flying start to their domestic season by winning eight of their opening nine Eredivisie matches of the campaign, but they have since hit a bit of a rough patch, losing three of their last four matches. The most recent of those setbacks saw Robin van Persie's side suffer a second half collapse when losing 4-2 at home to NEC Nijmegen on Sunday. Consequently, the Rotterdam outfit now find themselves trailing table-toppers PSV by six points.

Feyenoord have failed to keep a clean sheet in each of their four Europa League fixtures this season, while they have blanked in each of their three defeats.

No team has committed more fouls than Feyenoord (71) across the opening four rounds of league phase action in this season’s Europa League. They've also received two or more cards in three of their four matches to date.

Following a troubled start to the season, Martin O'Neill has steadied the ship at Parkhead. The Celtic interim manager has steered his side to three straight victories in the Scottish Premiership, the most recent of which was a last-gasp 1-0 win over St Mirren on Saturday. It’s also worth noting that O'Neill oversaw an Old Firm victory at the start of the month, with Celtic defeating Rangers 3-1 after extra time.

The only blemish under O’Neill thus far came against Midtjylland away from home in this competition, with Celtic being swept aside in a 3-1 defeat.

While Celtic have kept a clean sheet in a league-high eight of their 12 Scottish Premiership matches this season, the Bhoys’ backline has been breached in each of their four outings in this season’s Europa League.

Celtic have averaged a sizeable 7.67 team corners per game when on continental duty this season.

📔 Feyenoord v Celtic Formation & Team News

While Robin van Persie has favoured a 4-2-3-1 formation domestically this term, he has frequently opted for a more compact 4-3-3 system in this season’s Europa League.

RVP has confirmed that Cyle Larin and Givairo Read are the latest two players to have checked into the Feyenoord treatment room. That means as many as 10 first team players could miss out through injury for the hosts on Thursday evening.

Martin O’Neill has used a 4-3-3 formation since returning to Celtic on a temporary basis at the end of last month. Celtic have looked more defensively organised in recent weeks, while they have also played with a higher tempo.

Like Feyenoord, Celtic’s squad is also pretty stretched at the moment, with Alistair Johnston, Callum Osmand, Cameron Carter-Vickers, Jota, Kelechi Iheanacho and Marcelo Saracchi all missing for the Scottish champions.
