Celtic will be targeting back-to-back wins for the first time under Wilfried Nancy when they travel to Livingston on Saturday.

After presiding over the worst start by a new manager in the club’s history, Nancy finally got off the mark by steering his side to a 3-1 win over Aberdeen last Sunday.

That victory eased the pressure that had been building on the Frenchman, whose side sit six points behind league leaders Hearts, though they have a game in hand.

As for Livingston, they remain rooted to the foot of the table following last week’s 1-0 defeat at St Mirren.

📈 Livingston v Celtic Form & Stats

After bouncing back from relegation at the first time of asking, Livingston have struggled to adapt to life back in the top-flight. The Lions have propped up the table for much of the season, with their only victory to date coming against fellow newly-promoted side Falkirk on the second weekend of the campaign.

Somewhat uncharacteristically for a David Martindale-led side, Livingston have kept a clean sheet just once in 17 league matches this season, conceding in all 7 of their top-flight home games.

Livingston have also been one of the most ill-disciplined sides in this season’s Scottish Premiership, collecting an average of 2.71 cards per game. It is also worth noting that Livi picked up a red card in their last home outing, a 2-2 draw with relegation rivals Dundee.

New Celtic boss Wilfried Nancy will be hoping Sunday’s long-awaited 3-1 win over Aberdeen sparks a winning run ahead of a frantic festive schedule as they chase down league leaders Hearts.

However, Celtic’s 3-1 win over the Dons proved less comfortable than the scoreline suggests, as they had to weather a scare and rely on two late goals against 10-man Aberdeen to see the job through.

There has certainly been no shortage of entertainment since the Frenchman took the reins at Parkhead, with each of the Hoops’ four domestic fixtures featuring both teams scoring and over 2.5 goals.

All 3 of Celtic’s Scottish Premiership opponents under Nancy have picked up at least 2 cards, including Aberdeen last weekend, who had a player sent off.

Despite recent struggles, Celtic remain the corner kings of the Scottish Premiership, racking up 8 in last Sunday’s win over Aberdeen.

📔 Livingston v Celtic Formation & Team News

Livingston boss David Martindale has often deployed a 4-2-3-1 formation this season, though he could revert to a back-three here, as he did against Rangers last month.

Injured trio Aidan Denholm, Cameron Kerr and Shane Blaney are all progressing from injury, but this clash will likely come too soon for any of the trio. Adam Montgomery is also sidelined, though he wouldn’t have been able to play against his parent club in any case.

Ryan McGowan is back in contention after serving a one-match suspension against St Mirren last Saturday.

Widely criticised for his use of his favoured 3-4-2-1 formation across his first four matches in charge, Nancy switched to a 4-3-3 for last Sunday’s victory against Aberdeen. The Celtic boss is likely to take the same approach in West Lothian this weekend.

Injury victims Alistair Johnston, Callum Osmand, Cameron Carter-Vickers, Jota, Kelechi Iheanacho and Marcelo Saracchi are again all expected to be unavailable for Celtic on Saturday.
