This is a real uphill task for Nice, who have been playing friendlies since the 12th July. There may be a slight advantage in the increased levels of fitness for Nice, but the quality gap was so distinct in the first leg that it’s clear that it won’t be fatigue that costs Benfica here.

Nice have managed to win four of these five friendlies, but these were not against opposition of the level of Benfica, which should see a repeat of the first leg.
