Danny Noppert v David Cameron
🏆
Round 2
⏰
20:00 start time
Danny Noppert faces David Cameron in the evening session and the Dutchman is enjoying a fruitful year. He won the UK Open back in March following the birth of his first child and has backed this up with numerous good runs throughout the year. It’ll certainly be a 2022 Noppert will remember.
He’s a strong favourite in this one and I’ve been saying for a long time that despite his success he remains underrated by many. He also remains underrated on the 180 front. He’s registering them more frequently than ever this year and his seasonal 180 record reads a respectable 0.28 per leg.
During his 145 matches this year he’s hit more than his opponent in 54% of matches but these are players with no disrespect to David Cameron who are a higher standard and bigger 180 hitters.
Cameron in his opener went the full 5 sets and only notched up 2, a poor return over a match of such length. That won’t be enough to trouble Noppert in the scoring department so although a short price in this market, Noppert hitting more than Cameron still represents value.

Joe Cullen v Ricky Evans
🏆
Round 2
⏰
22:00 start time
Ricky Evans came through a nervy opening match with Fallon Sherrock with an average of 89.32. The result is probably not a real reflection of how well Fallon played as the leg count was 10-9 in Evans favour which included him winning 3 sets in a last leg shoot out. It really was a game that could’ve gone either way.
He faces Joe Cullen here and there Head to Head doesn’t read good for Evans with Cullen leading 10-3 and winning their last 6 matches, none of which have been close really.
Cullen has taken his game to a new level this year. He won the Masters at the start of 2022 to earn a place in the Premier League and he missed one match dart in the final to claim one of the biggest titles on the PDC circuit.
Looking at his TV form, Cullen has only lost to the elite on stage this year and will see this as an opportunity to start a good run here. That certainly would help him cement a place in the Premier League that isn’t guaranteed at the moment, although he definitely is in the mix.
He’s averaging 94.44 for the year compared to the 91.30 of Evans. Ricky also comes into this with 20 defeats in his last 30 matches. I can’t see anything other than a comfortable Cullen victory, we even have the luxury of him being able to lose a set.
