Real Madrid were the only team to remain unbeaten at home in La Liga last season, concluding the campaign with 16 wins and three draws.

They conceded just nine goals in 19 games, scoring 48 goals in return.

They have continued that record, with back-to-back wins at the Bernabeu this campaign, beating Valladolid 3-0, before a comfortable 2-0 victory over Real Betis.

Stuttgart have been less impressive in the Bundesliga, and only recently found their first league win, against Borussia Monchengladbach. Before that, they were held to a 3-3 draw by Mainz, after losing 3-1 to Freiburg in gameweek one.

Stuttgart lost top scorer Serhou Guirassy over the summer, but the main issues have arisen defensively, as they have conceded seven goals from three league games.

Since joining Real Madrid, Mbappe has managed at least two shots on target in five out of six games, only failing in his debut appearance against Atalanta.

In his most recent home game, Mbappe attempted nine shots against Real Betis, with two goals from three shots on target.

Despite failing to score in his first three La Liga outings, chances have been abundant for Mbappe, as he has featured in a central role under Carlo Ancelotti.

Stuttgart have revealed defensive weaknesses this season, following the loss of their captain and centre back, Waldemar Anton over the summer.

Stuttgart have conceded 20 shots on target in just three Bundesliga games so far – only Holstein Kiel have currently conceded more.

Josha Vagnoman recently returned from injury, and started his first game this season against Borussia Monchengladbach.

He featured for 63 minutes at right back for Stuttgart, made two fouls and was booked.

He is still getting back to full fitness, and is now set for a tough matchup against Vinicius Junior.

In the previous game, Jon Aramburu drew the matchup against Vinicius, and really struggled. He made four fouls and was booked. Prior to that, Youssouf Sabaly made three fouls playing in a similar role.

Given that Mbappe also tends to pop up on the left flank, Vagnoman is set for an extremely testing night at the Bernabeu.

Eder Militao has made ten fouls in his last four games for Real Madrid, with two fouls landing against Real Valladolid, Las Palmas, Real Betis and Real Sociedad.

The Brazilian tends to stay very tight to his opposition striker, which can see him drawn out of position and forced to make a foul.

He is an extremely physical player, and is the aggressor in his partnership with Antonio Rudiger. Militao often marks his man tightly, while Rudiger acts as the sweeper.

Militao is likely to match up against Ermedin Demirovic, who recently joined Stuttgart from Augsburg. He is another physical player who will invite duels, and has drawn seven fouls in five appearances at his new club.

After drawing a blank in his first three La Liga games, Kylian Mbappe seems to be back to his best, netting three goals in his last two games.

Although two of those goals were from the penalty spot, he has been finding himself in optimal scoring positions from open play, currently averaging 5.3 shots per game at his new club.

Stuttgart have looked extremely shaky defensively, following the loss of their captain, Waldemar Anton. They have shipped seven goals from three Bundesliga games, conceding at least six shots on target in every game so far.

Stuttgart have conceded 6.0 xG so far – the fifth-most in the Bundesliga. Mbappe is in prime position to exploit such a weakness at the Bernabeu, where he netted a brace last time out.

Following the retirement of Toni Kroos, Fede Valverde has slotted into a holding midfield role for Real Madrid, and has since seen an uptick in shots.

So far this season, he had nine shots in five games in all competitions, registering a shot on target in four of those six games. All nine shots have been from outside the box, but from dangerous positions in and around Zone 14.

He is also yet to miss a minute under Carlo Ancellotti this campaign, highlighting his importance in the squad. With Eduardo Camavinga still out with injury, that trend is set to persist.

Valverde will be the allocated free kick taker, looking to utilise his ball-striking ability. He has taken two free kicks for Los Blancos this season, both were on target and one resulted in a goal.

Atakan Karazor saw an average of just 0.85 fouls per game in the Bundesliga last season. However, he has seen an uptick in fouls following the departure of Waldemar Anton, which has landed him a promotion to the captaincy.

He has played the full 90 minutes in four out of five games in all competitions this season, making at least two fouls in four of them.

The only game he failed to make two fouls was against Mainz, although it is worth noting that he was booked after his first infringement.

With a seemingly much larger role for Stuttgart as a defensive midfielder, it should be a tough test for him against Real Madrid.

Vinicius Junior has drawn a foul in each of his last 20 games for Real Madrid in all competitions.

When playing at least 45 minutes in La Liga last season, Vinicius drew a foul in nine out of 11 starts at the Bernabeu, averaging 2.15 fouls drawn per 90.

This season the Brazilian has drawn 15 fouls from five games, averaging three fouls drawn per game.

In the last game against Real Sociedad, Vinicius looked extremely sharp and saw a lot of the ball. He drew three fouls as Los Blancos cruised to a 2-0 victory.

Prior to that, he drew 5 fouls at the Bernabeu against Real Betis.

He should match up against Vagnoman here, who has recently returned from injury, making two fouls in his previous game.
