Alex Iwobi played in a more advance role last weekend for Fulham due to absence of the likes of Kevin and Harry Wilson. Iwobi operated from the flanks, which was where he played earlier in his career before moving more centrally in recent years. He scored against Spurs and Sunderland in recent weeks, and also set up Raul’s goal v Sunderland from a corner. In the absence of Harry Wilson with an ankle problem, Iwobi will be Fulham’s chief creator.

Fulham travel to take on Nottingham Forest, another side playing a game on Sunday between two European ties. Forest are one goal down in that one, but surely cannot rotate too much with their Premier League survival on the line. Forest have kept just one clean sheet in their last six league games, and that was at home to bottom of the table Wolves.

The return of Bruno Fernandes to peak form has been a key reason for Man United’s resurgence, and his numbers since the start of January have been impressive. He has accrued two goals and eight assists in 10 starts across all competitions, landing this selection in eight matches. 

That has propelled his tally to seven goals and 15 assists for the season, which again ranks him as Man United’s most effective player in the final third.

Even though he failed to register a goal involvement when he last faced Aston Villa, it is worth noting that Bruno Fernandes was playing in a deeper role alongside Manuel Ugarte, and he only lasted 45 minutes before coming off with an injury. Fernandes has a solid record against Villa, and he provided an assist for Amad Diallo when he last faced them at Old Trafford.

You would have got very good odds on Mo Salah having only scored five league goals by mid-March back in August for the reigning champions, and yet their are still only 11 Premier League players who have a higher combined goals and assists tally. Despite having seemingly past his peak, in all competitions Salah has still provided a goal or an assist in six of his last 10 starts.

The visitors to Anfield are Tottenham, who coincidentally, in a tie with Man United, are the team Salah has scored most goals against in his career. It’s fair to say that Spurs are at rock bottom, battered in midweek by Atletico Madrid, with the treatment of goalkeeper Antonin Kinsky also causing further problems they did not need right now. They have lost six games in a row and conceded 18 goals in the process, an average of three per game. Liverpool have been far from fluid this season, but they should surely be able to cash in here.

Milan should be on a high coming into this one, having defeated city rivals Inter last weekend to close the gap at the top to seven points with ten games to go. Their opponents Lazio are in 10th place currently, equidistant between the European positions and the relegation zone, so they are playing somewhat pressure free. They won last weekend, but prior to that had gone six without a win. 

Rafael Leao is the player I want on side, who has been playing in a split striker role with Christian Pulisic for the majority of the season. He has three direct goal contributions in his last eight starts, and scored against Lazio in the reverse fixture earlier in the season. Only four players in Serie A have a better combined xG and xA per 90 than Leao, and two of those are his teammates, but Leao is in the better current form in my opinion.
