A Steel City Derby on a Sunday afternoon is always one to look forward to, but it can’t be very often that both sides have been in the relegation zone before a ball is kicked.

Both sides have faced early season issues, off the pitch for Sheffield Wednesday as they entered administration following issues with former owner Dephjon Chansiri and were deducted 12 points, whilst Sheffield United have reappointed Chris Wilder after sacking Ruben Selles, who replaced Wilder in the summer.

These games are usually cagey affairs, and whilst Wednesday have improved a little of late, they are still finding it difficult to keep clean sheets, with just one in the league this season. Callum O’Hare is the Blades player I want to side with, having scored four times and assisted twice, having started all 15 games.

That record has almost overtaken last season's output already, so he is clearly in a confident mood despite the form of the side. His dynamism gets him into good positions; we just need him to execute the killer pass or finish.

Leandro Trossard has been one of Arsenal’s most underrated players so far this season with four goal contributions to his name in the Premier League (2 goals, 2 assists). He’s currently overachieving his xG + xA which sits at just 2.90 - this is the biggest over performance of these metrics in the Arsenal squad. 

Trossard was in fine form just before the international break with goal contributions in each of his last three matches against Sunderland, Slavia Prague and Burnley. These aren’t the most glamorous of opponents, but it shows how useful Trossard can be in the overall impact of the squad with Arsenal seriously improving their squad depth over the summer.

Trossard also has recent history against Tottenham. He scored the winning goal in this fixture last season and can be a threat in the final third again here with his recent positive form. There’s also a decent angle with super sub here as Martinelli has been incredibly effective from the bench for Arsenal this season with his strikes against Manchester City and Athletic Club coming to mind.

Inter will be looking to extend their lead at the top of Serie A and over their City rivals AC, who are just two points behind them in 3rd.

Inter are the side I want to be with this one, as The Nerazzurri have scored 17 goals in just six league games at the San Siro so far this campaign. A couple of weeks ago, I put up Hakan Calhanoglu in this column, and he duly obliged, playing the drilled pass from a corner for the Zielenski side foot volley - which you probably saw all over social media.

I’m sticking with the Turkish captain here, who is in dangerous form, having provided five goals and five assists in his last 10 games for club and country. That record should not be ignored in this one, and he is an easy one to side with given he is the clubs set piece and penalty taker, too.

The bookmakers generally have Real Madrid up at a 94% chance of scoring in this game, and given they are averaging two goals per away game, that seems fair enough. 

In total, Xabi Alonso’s side has scored 26 goals in La Liga, with Kylian Mbappe scoring half of them, and assisting a further two. With a scoring rate of over a goal per game, we have to side with Mbappe to continue that form, despite Elche having only conceded three goals this season on home turf. The French striker is averaging just shy of five shots per 90, and 2.8 chances created per 90 minutes. He can be the difference maker again for Real.
