While they had a much tougher matchup against fellow top flight side Alaves at the Mendizorroza Stadium, it was a deserved victory for the hosts. Alaves racked up 15 shots worth 2.13 xG, eventually securing the victory thanks to a penalty from Carlos Vicente in the 79th minute.

Sevilla have taken just one point from their last four league matches on the road, including a 3-0 loss against Atletico Madrid in that run.

The former remains out through injury, while the latter has travelled to AFCON.

Xabi Alonso also has plenty of absentees to contend with, as Alvaro Carreras and Dani Carvajal remain suspended. Fran Garcia and Dean Huijsen were able to play the full 90 midweek, and Alonso will hope they can repeat that again at the weekend. Further forward, Mbappe is likely to shift centrally, with Vinicius Jr on the left wing. Rodrygo has scored in back-to-back starts coming into this clash, so should occupy the opposite flank.
