Sparta Prague v Brest Bet Builder Tips
This tie doesn’t automatically strike you as a Champions League fixture. Sparta Prague are participating in the group stage of Europe’s premier club competition for the first time since 2005, whilst Brest are in the throws of their first European campaign in their history.
Both have acquitted themselves pretty well so far. They have a mutual opponent against which they recorded impressive wins, 3-0 and 0-4 respectively, against RB Salzburg. They also both earned creditable draws against German opponents (Stuttgart & Leverkusen).
Brest have the edge though in terms of points accumulated, as they opened with a 2-1 win over Sturm Graz, whilst Sparta Prague were thumped 5-0 by Manchester City.
⭐ Sparta Prague v Brest Best Bets
Les Pirates have impressed so far in the Champions League, remaining unbeaten after three games. Their league form isn’t great, they currently sit in 11th place, with xG numbers suggesting they should be further down the table towards the relegation zone. They do seem to be improving, however, with just one defeat in their last six games.
Whilst Sparta Prague sit third in their domestic league, their form of late has been worrying. They have lost four of their last five league games.
Both could be without key attacking players, Lukas Haraslin who has six goals and assists in 1. Liga has not played since their last Champions League outing, whilst Brest will miss Abdallah Sima, who has scored three goals in three games in this competition. Brest are the outsiders here but we think they are worth chancing at a nice price.

🔍 Sparta Prague v Brest Players to Watch
🔴 Kaan Kairinen
Kairinen is widely regarded as Sparta Prague’s best player. The left-footed central midfielder has already scored two goals in this year’s competition.
The Finland international is a combative player, having picked up four yellow cards in 695 minutes in 1. Liga, that is 0.52 per 90 and has one from three Champions League games this term. He is a good bet to be shown a card.
⚪ Romain Del Castillo
With top European goalscorer Abdallah Sima likely to miss this one through injury, the onus looks as if it will be on Romain Del Castillo to provide the firepower.
Del Castillo operates from the right-hand side, cutting inside onto his left foot. The Frenchman has scored three goals this season in Ligue 1, all of which have been from the penalty spot. He averages 0.92 shots on target per 90 in domestic competitions but has struggled to make his mark in Europe so far.
This fixture can be the game where he steps up to the mark.
