We have the Packers at the Cardinals in the late slot on Red Zone this week and it’s a game I’m excited to watch. Not least to see what happens at quarterback for the Cardinals.

From a betting perspective, I’m all over the Packers, for a variety of reasons, so this Bet Builder is Green Bay heavy!

4 Selections @ 5.62

Green Bay Packers Moneyline @ 1.29

The Cardinals won their first two games of the year to get fans dreaming of a postseason, only to go on what is now the second-longest losing streak in the NFL and watch their team get defeated in four straight games. Now they have an incredibly tough test with the Packers coming to town, a Packers team with just one defeat to their name this season.

The Packers are 3-1-1 this season, having had their bye week in Week Five, but despite a surprise loss to the Browns, this is a very good team. They have a quarterback in Jordan Love who is really developing into one of the best in the league and has turned the ball over just twice this season, as he’s averaged a 110.9 QB Rating.

It isn’t clear at this stage who’ll be starting at quarterback with Kyler Murray limited in practice during the week and his replacement, Jacoby Brissett, looking good enough last week that it’s called into question whether he should be the starter. Either way, I don’t want to back a team with QB uncertainty. Especially when they’re set to face a defense that rank second in defensive DVOA and has an excellent pass rush with Rashan Gary and new arrival Micah Parsons.

Tucker Kraft 46.5+ Receiving Yards @ 1.83

Backing Tucker Kraft to hit the Over on his receiving yards, a line of 46.5, feels like an essential leg in this Bet Builder. The Packers tight end has averaged 53.6 yards per game so far this season and is one of Love’s favourite targets. Even last week against the Bengals, when he saw a season-low two targets, he still averaged 21.5 yards per catch, and his average across the whole season is an impressive 14.9.

The Cardinals are the perfect team for Kraft in this spot because they’ve been woeful against the tight end position. They’re giving up 246 yards through the air per game, the sixth worst in the entire NFL. However, they’ve given up the third most receiving yards to tight ends. Giving up an average of 69.5 yards per game to the position. That means that 28.2% of all receiving yards that they’re allowing are going to tight ends, so we should see an uptick in Kraft’s output and potentially a very big Sunday for the former South Dakota man.

Matthew Golden 30+ Receiving Yards @ 1.29

We’re yet to see Matthew Golden explode but it’s surely a matter of time. The Packers drafted him 23rd overall back in April and his college tape from Texas showcases both his speed and his ability to separate. He’s taking some time to adapt to the speed of the NFL but it’s clear that he’s got the talent and is set for a true breakout game very soon, potentially even this very Sunday.

The key thing to know here is that the team are really trying to get the ball into his hands. He’s seen his target volume increase throughout the season and he’s rewarded the team with 52 or more receiving yards in his previous three games. The team have also given him a carry in four of five games so far, and while that wouldn’t count towards his receiving yards, it does demonstrate just how much the coaching staff are trying to get him into dangerous positions to use his skillset. Speaking of that skillset, he averaged a staggering 28.7 yards across his three grabs last week and it wouldn’t be a shock if he beat this alternate line of 30+ receiving yards with just one catch, although he should get plenty more than that.

Trey McBride 6.5+ Receptions @ 1.73

With question marks over who’ll be starting quarterback for the Cardinals on Sunday and their running back corps missing their RB1 and RB2, there’s only one player I’m confident on including in a player prop on the Arizona sideline and that’s Trey McBride. The tight end has developed into one of the best in the league and will be the key weapon for them in this game.

What makes him such a safe bet is that he’s effectively QB-proof and whether it’s Murray or Brissett at QB, he’ll continue to see volume. Last week’s game with Brissett at QB actually tied for the most targets (11) he’s had in a game this season. He’s had seven or more targets in every single game this season and why he hasn’t hit Over 6.5 receptions in all of them, there’s always a chance when he continues to get high volumes of passes. With the Cardinals likely playing from behind (they’re 6.5 point underdogs) we should see whoever is at QB throw the ball a lot, and McBride should be the main beneficiary.
