The home side have a good recent history in the FA Cup, reaching the 2nd round and eventually losing to league opposition four times over the last twelve years. The hosts will be hoping to make it 5th time lucky, while Notts County will be hoping to avoid a banana skin defeat here.

Both Teams To Score

Brackley have shown they are capable on home soil this season, currently sitting 9th in the National League home table, scoring goals has admittedly been an issue though. The 6-2 FA Cup home replay win against Woking is a particularly notable result though.

Despite falling behind in the 2nd minute, they quickly rallied to lead 2-1 by the 20th minute mark. This result shows an ability to get themselves pumped up for a big occasion, and there’s a good chance they will come flying out the blocks against Notts County and be aggressive.

Notts County’s away form has been very ordinary so far this season, they’ve managed just 8 points from seven games. Their only away clean sheet in all competitions came against Barnet a couple of weeks ago. Truthfully though, Barnet dominated the game and were very unfortunate not to win or score a goal.

Notts County to Win

Confidence should be high in the camp after picking up 10 points from their last four league matches. Much will probably depend on the XI Notts County field, but you would imagine it’ll be close to full strength here.

Hypothetically if it ends up being a tight game as we meander into the latter stages, Notts County have the quality to produce a moment of magic. Players like Jodi Jones and Alassana Jatta have the ability to play at a much higher level, and I can see them being a decisive difference here, either from the start or from the bench.

While an FA Cup tie often proves to be a leveller between sides in different divisions, given Brackley’s recent run of 1 point from their last five games in the National League, it might be a struggle if they fall behind here, doubt could creep in and early optimism might be replaced with shattered confidence.

📈 Brackley v Notts County Form & Stats

It’s been a fantastic six months for Brackley Town, they were just promoted to the fifth tier for the first time in their history after a string of near-misses in the play-offs. While newly promoted teams often struggle to adapt to life at National League level, Brackley find themselves in 17th position and 4 points clear of the drop zone with a game in hand.

Despite picking up a 6-2 win in an FA Cup replay against Woking, Brackley have now failed to win in their last five National League matches, losing four of them. Brackley’s league record is four wins, five draws, and six defeats.

Upwardly mobile Notts County have endured a better period in their recent history after languishing in the National League for four seasons. Notts County are well resourced for this level, adopting a data heavy approach to recruitment. After a 14th and 6th placed finish in League 2 over the last two campaigns, things have never quite clicked completely.

There’s more optimism on the horizon though, Notts County currently sit in 5th place and just 2 points behind league leaders Walsall, the visitors have now picked up 10 points from their last four games. It’s a promising period for a side who have often struggled with consistency since getting back to the fourth tier. Notts County’s league record is seven wins, three draws, and four defeats.
