Huddersfield to Win

The odds reflect that this will be a close game, but I don’t think it will be low scoring, and I also believe Huddersfield look a touch too big at 2.63.

Their two defeats have come on the road at Blackpool and Barnsley, but I see the first as a freak result, and the second as almost completely down to goalkeeping meltdown by Owen Goodman. The Terriers won at the weekend (3-2) and fired six goals past Newcastle U21's in the game prior.

I don't think Bradford are as good as the table suggests, Huddersfield to win is the pick here.

Over 2.5 Goals

Both of the aforementioned Huddersfield away losses saw four goals and then five goals, so the over 2.5 goal line being price at 2.0 looks a good bet. Bradford have kept just one clean sheet in eight matches in all competitions, while Huddersfield have netted nine times across their last two outing in all competitions.

Will Swan of Bradford would be my choice for anytime goalscorer, having scored in each of Bradford’s last four games. His xG per 90 figure currently stands 1.06. He is available at odds of 3.50 to score anytime.

🟤 Bradford Suffer First Set Back

The Bantams tasted defeat for the first time at the weekend in another Yorkshire derby against Doncaster, losing 3-1 in a game which looked pretty even on xG.

Before that, they had started really well, recording wins over pre-season favourites Luton, and two play-off sides from last season in Wycombe and Stockport. There will be a massive home crowd behind them at Valley Parade willing them to bounce back.

🔵 Huddersfield Looking Strong

Huddersfield currently sit 3rd in the League One table, one point and two places above Bradford, with the xG table ranking these two sides as the 2nd (Huddersfield) and 3rd (Bradford) best sides in the division, behind Bolton.

The form lines for this one favour Huddersfield, having recorded a 2-0 victory over Bradford’s weekend conquerors Doncaster around a month or so ago. Lee Grant’s side have already recorded victories over two of the top five, and this would be another one.

📊 Bradford v Huddersfield H2H

This will be the first league meeting between the two sides since 2007, which also took place in League One, with Huddersfield winning both fixtures.

Bradford have not beaten Huddersfield in a league game for over 20 years.
