Tottenham made light of their crippling injury crises to rescue a dramatic late point at champions Man City last weekend and Ange Postecoglou’s adventurous outfit will be keen to build some fresh momentum by beating London rivals West Ham this evening.
With their personnel issues a major factor, Spurs have gone four assignments without tasting victory in the Premier League, though their clash with the Hammers kicks off a sequence of three home games in four fixtures and the highfliers will see that run as an opportunity to put more points on the board before Christmas.
The in-form Irons meanwhile, are unbeaten in three league tests (2W, 1D) while their loss to Brentford back in early November was their only reverse in seven matches in all competitions overall. If an improving West Ham manage to upset the odds to win this evening, they would move to within three points of their neighbours from the capital, though the Hammers have a habit of underperforming when they travel to take on Spurs.
Indeed, West Ham have lost on each of their last three visits to play Spurs in North London, while their return of just one win from their last seven away tussles with Tottenham overall suggests they could be up against it again. With excitement under the lights a genuine possibility, this already looks like the perfect clash for a bet builder.

⚽ Match stats: Can West Ham extend their unbeaten run?
West Ham pocketed seven points from the last nine on offer in the Premier League though a relatively kind run of fixtures against Nottingham Forest, Burnley and Crystal Palace helped their cause and a test at Tottenham represents a sizable jump in difficulty.
We touched on the Hammers’ poor recent record away at Spurs above, though David Moyes’ troops have also toiled on the road against some of the division’s leading lights this season and their last two trips to play top six sides (Aston Villa 1-4 & Liverpool 1-3) were chastening experiences.
Tottenham’s results have dipped since their players started to drop like flies, however, their 3-3 draw at Manchester City would have been a major confidence-builder and the return from suspension of key defender Cristian Romero should help to solidify their soft centre.
Spurs lost their last home tie against Aston Villa (1-2), however, they won the xG battle against the Villains (2.3 to 1.7) and their ability to manufacture chance after chance under Ange Postecoglou could give them the edge over a West Ham outfit that often retreat into their shell on the road.
West Ham have lost three of their last four away assignments and backing Spurs to beat the poor travellers looks like an option with merit at 1.67. If Tottenham’s defensive lapses are too much of a concern for your liking, then backing them with insurance in the draw no bet stakes might suit at 1.33.
Predictions:
🏆 Tottenham to win @ 1.75
🏆 Tottenham draw no bet @ 1.33
🎯 Shooting stats: Kulusevski and Kudus the ones to watch
While it’s tempting to side with Heung-min Son in the Spurs shot markets this evening, prices for the 31-year-old in that department aren’t overly favourable and instead, slick Swede Dejan Kulusevski looks like an option with better value to have 1+ attempts on target at 1.80.
The 23-year-old managed to lodge a shot on target in three of his last four Premier League starts for Tottenham and his recent shift from the right flank to a more central role in the absence of the injured James Maddison should put him in threatening positions more often.
For West Ham, exciting Ghanaian Mohammed Kudus looks like an intriguing prospect in the markets. The ex-Ajax starlet has really started to turn heads with his impactful performances and the 23-year-old racked up at least two shots in three of his last four appearances for the Irons.
With Tottenham left back Destiny Udogie under instruction to surge forward down his flank, Kudus could have space to exploit, especially on the counter attack where his pace and trickery could be particularly devastating.
Kudus had four attempts in his last runout against Crystal Palace and the attacker’s influence seems to be growing by the game. Backing the forward to let fly at least twice later on looks like a solid play here.
Predictions:
🚀 Mohammed Kudus to have 2+ shots @ 1.62
🎯 Dejan Kulusevski to have 1+ shots on target @ 1.80
🚩 Corners stats: High corner count could be in the works
West Ham edged the corner battle in their last away fixture at Burnley (5-4), though that was the first time in seven Premier League away games since the campaign kicked off where the Irons came out on top for that particular match metric.
In fact, West Ham have conceded a whopping 59 corners on the road this term, which works out at a league-high average of 8.43 per 90 minutes and the Hammers’ habit of ceding ground and possession in away games makes backing Spurs to win more corners this evening a must in the markets at 1.44. Tottenham also look docket-worthy at 1.57 to win over 5.5 corners at their visitor’s expense.
Elsewhere, over 9.5 total corners is another option with plenty of value at 1.40. Tottenham’s free-wheeling gameplan tends to turn their games into frenetic, end-to-end affairs and that back-and-forth flow usually pushes the corner count to lofty levels.
As a result, Tottenham’s fixtures have been averaging 12.14 corners per game this season, indeed, only Man Utd’s league games have featured more (12.86), while West Ham’s figure (11.50 per game) places them fifth in the division for that set piece tally.
Predictions:
🚩 Over 5.5 Tottenham corners @ 1.57
🚩 Over 9.5 match corners @ 1.40
🚩 Tottenham corner match bet @ 1.44
🟨 Cards stats: Romero to pick up where he left off?
Hard-hitting Argentinean defender Cristian Romero returns to Tottenham’s backline against West Ham following a three-match suspension for his dismissal against Chelsea in early November and the no-nonsense centre half could throw his weight around again when he lines up against the Irons.
The 25-year-old is always tiptoeing along the tightrope of ill-discipline and his haul of three cards (2Y, 1R) in 11 Premier League appearances doesn’t quite reflect just how aggressive Romero has been for Spurs this term.
Keen to make an immediate impact on his comeback, we expect Romero to tackle with typical ferocity against the backdrop of a derby atmosphere and he looks like a strong option in the individual card market at 3.30.
Romero could be one of a number of players to have their name taken in what could be a night of hot tempers in North London. Incredibly, three of Tottenham’s six home games this season have featured at least nine cards and their last London derby against Chelsea was particularly heated with both teams earning at least four cards apiece.
West Ham meanwhile, amassed at least three cautions in four of their first seven away games of the season – a figure that provides more evidence to suggest that referee Michael Salisbury will have his work cut out to keep control of proceedings. Backing over 4.5 cards to be brandished looks like an avenue worth exploring at 1.83.
Predictions:
🟨 Cristian Romero to be shown a card @ 3.30
🟨 Over 4.5 cards @ 1.83
