Bristol City are sitting just outside the play-off places and they will be hoping that they can use this post-international break period to get some of their injured players back to restore their promotion challenge. Swansea come into this one without a manager after dismissing Alan Sheehan and being gazumped for their first choice replacement by Middlesbrough.

📈 Bristol City v Swansea Form & Stats
Bristol City finally started seeing some impact of their injuries in the last couple of weeks, losing two and drawing one just before the international break. A 1-5 loss to Stoke was surprising given that they had won their previous three, and it seemed to knock the Robins off course a little. With having had this break to re-group it will be interesting to see if they can restore some of their early season form.
There are multiple boosts for Gerhard Struber ahead of this match. Captain Jason Knight is arguably the biggest of those, Cameron Pring, and Neto Borges are also back from the treatment table. This should help Struber maintain Bristol City’s good numbers, especially in attack where they rank seventh for expected goals and fourth for big chances created. Strangely, they rank only 20th for shots on target though, which indicates a lot of shots going wayward.
Swansea have been slipping down the table in terms of results, which, unfortunately, matches what we have been seeing from a data perspective for most of the season. Only Sheffield Wednesday have a worse xG ratio, the difference between chances created and chances conceded, over the whole season, than the Swans.
Swansea are in 18th now, seven points off Sheffield United in 22nd, with Norwich in 23rd as well, one would expect both of those clubs to improve in the second half of the season. Swansea’s recent form of only one point in the last four matches needs to drastically improve if they are to steer clear of the relegation dogfight.
