Competition: Champions League
📺
Watch Live: TNT Sports 5
Real Madrid will be looking to build on their opening victory against Stuttgart in their hopes of defending the esteemed Champions League trophy.
They face the trip to France to face Lille, who were comfortably beaten in their opening game against Sporting.
⭐ Lille v Real Madrid Best Bets
Out of eleven games this season for Lille in the current season, this bet has landed in eight of those. They failed to obtain more corners in both qualifying legs against Fenerbahce, although they were the first two games of the season.
They recently managed less corners against Sporting, although Lille had Angel Gomes sent off, and saw very few chances. Even still, the final count was only 3-2 in favour of the Portuguese side.
Lille have conceded an average of just 2.91 corners this season. The French side plays with width, so can generate numerous crossing opportunities and corners. Against PSG, Lille accrued three corners, conceding just one in return.
An ideal gamestate would be a Madrid lead here, which is relatively likely given that the Spanish side are priced at 1.57 to win.
🔍 Lille v Real Madrid Players to Watch
⚪️ Vinicius Junior
With Kylian Mbappe once again expected to miss out through injury, Vinicius Jr should see an uptick in responsibility and involvement in the attacking third. He has registered an assist in each of his last three games.
Last season, the Brazilian contributed massively to his side lifting the Champions League trophy, as he registered six goals and four assists in 13 games, including a goal in the final against Dortmund. Vinicius had the most goal involvements of any Real Madrid player in the Champions League last season.
⚪️ Arda Guler
Arda Guler did not feature against Atletico Madrid at all, so could start here as Mbappe nurses an injury. He has looked sharp when starting, managing five shots with three on target against Valladolid, two shots against Real Sociedad, and two shots with one on target against Espanyol.
He is currently averaging 3.77 shots per 90, with 1.51 on target – that ranks him in the 96th percentile for players operating in a similar position in La Liga.
⚪️ Eder Militao
Eder Militao has started the season strongly, after an injury-hit previous campaign. He got on the scoresheet in the last game against Atletico Madrid at the Metropolitano, and is set to start in France.
A standout aspect of his game this season, has been the aggression with which he plays – only Vinicius Jr has made more fouls than the centre back this season. Militao has made at least one foul in eight out of ten appearances, averaging 1.6 fouls per 90.

💻 Lille v Real Madrid Form and Tactics
Lille were underwhelming in their opening Champions League clash against Sporting Lisbon, as they succumbed to a 2-0 loss. They barely put up a fight, registering just three shots in total, amounting to 0.41 xG. A massive contributing factor to that was the red card to Angel Gomes. After a positive start to the season which earned him a call up to the England squad, he will miss this clash through suspension.
Real Madrid were held to a 1-1 draw last time out against Atletico Madrid, following a late equaliser from Angel Correa. On a positive note, that result extended their unbeaten streak this campaign to ten games in all competitions. Against Stuttgart, Los Blancos were slightly unconvincing at the back, as the German side put up 1.94 xG from 17 shots. However, two late goals from Antonio Rudiger and Endrick ensured Ancelotti got off to a winning start in Europe.
