PSG v Inter Milan
Kick Off: Saturday 31st May at 20:00
Competition: Champions League
PSG will be looking to get their hands on the Champions League for the first time on Saturday night as they take on an Inter side that will be hoping to complete the set under Simeone Inzaghi, who came so close to lifting the trophy back in 2023.
PSG started the campaign slowly but have grown into it, with Luis Enrique assembling an exciting and hardworking side that is just as impressive out of possession as they are in possession. This will be Inter’s seventh European cup/Champions League final, they’ve only lost one of their 14 Champions League games this term.
⭐ PSG v Inter Milan Best Bets
Inter have proven to be an incredibly difficult side to beat in the Champions League this season, they’ve only lost one of their 14 games in the competition (v Bayer Leverkusen) and are unbeaten in their last eight games in the Champions League (W6, D2), as well as avoiding defeat in their last six matches across all competitions.
In 14 Champions League matches (1260 minutes of play), Simone Inzaghi’s side have only been trailing for 16 minutes - a remarkable achievement at this level of football which highlights just how effective they’ve been in this tournament this season. For context, Inter Milan have faced off against Barcelona, Bayern Munich, Bayer Leverkusen, Arsenal and Man City in the competition, which makes their achievement even more impressive.
Inter don’t stay down for long, they have responded quickly when falling behind in these games with Barcelona and Bayern Munich only managing to get ahead for six minutes in their games against Inter in the knockout phases, before the Neraazzuri mounted their comebacks. Simeone Inzaghi’s side will be even more desperate to get their hands on this trophy having missed out on the Coppa Italia and the Serie A title in recent weeks.
Inter have been the most consistent side in the Champions League this season and have the benefit of being in this position recently with largely the same crop of players. That negative experience in 2023 should act as motivation for the Inter players to produce a solid performance in the final. They can make life difficult for PSG here.

👕 PSG v Inter Milan Predicted XI

🔍 PSG v Inter Milan Players to Watch
⚪ ️Lautaro Martinez
Martinez has been crucial in this Champions League run for Inter Milan, scoring nine goals across his 14 appearances in the competition while averaging 2.70 shots per 90 and 2.11 shots on target per 90 - a shot accuracy of 78%.
Martinez has found the target in three of his last four Champions League appearances, scoring three goals in this period against Bayern Munich and Barcelona. Martinez also averaged 1.19 shots on target per 90 across his 31 appearances in Serie A this season.
🔵 ️Ousmane Dembele
Dembele has been the catalyst for PSG’s improvement since the turn of the year. He’s registered 44 goal contributions across his 48 appearances in all competitions for PSG this season (33 goals, 11 assists). 12 of these goal contributions have come in the Champions League across 14 appearances which suggests that Dembele has been impactful during this Champions League run for Luis Enrique’s side.
He’s provided a goal contribution in each leg of the quarter final and semi final ties against Aston Villa and Arsenal as well as popping up with a crucial goal at Anfield in the round of 16.
🔵 ️Joao Neves
One of the reasons that PSG have been so successful this season is their work off the ball. Luis Enrique’s side employ an aggressive counter press which sees them push high up the pitch and look to regain possession as quickly as possible after they lose it, Neves is an important part of this setup.
He’s committed 23 fouls across his 16 Champions League appearances this season (1.53 per 90) and committed five fouls across the two legs against Arsenal in the semi-final as well as making seven tackles across these games.

📊 PSG v Inter Milan Form & Tactics
PSG have been excellent in the second half of the season after a slow start to the campaign. They’re looking to secure a treble here after winning Ligue 1 comfortably and also recently picking up the Coupe De France with a 3-0 win over Reims. Luis Enrique has been the most important factor in PSG transitioning from an ego fuelled side to a hardworking team that could secure their first ever Champions League trophy.
A few weeks ago, Inter were also looking strong for a potential treble, but have fallen away in the league and the cup leaving the Champions League as their only source of silverware this season. Simeone Inzaghi will have been targeting this competition having marginally lost out on the final in 2023 and the Champions League also being the only trophy he hasn’t won with this Inter side.
PSG will line up in a 4-3-3 shape with an emphasis on counter pressing when they are out of possession. Barcelona showed in the semi final that the Inter resolve can be cracked with consistent pressure and attacking quality, both traits that PSG have in abundance.
The fullbacks are always worth keeping an eye on for PSG, Luis Enrique did drop Nuno Mendes into a back three against Arsenal so it’ll be interesting to see how he manages the Inter wingbacks, particularly Denzel Dumfries who was so effective in the semi final.
Inter will line up in a 3-5-2 shape, they can’t really go to toe to toe with PSG as they will probably be outgunned but where they have the slight advantage over the French champions is their defensive structure which has contributed massively to the Italian side only losing one of their 14 games in the competition this season.
