The EFL is notorious for being evenly-matched and hard to call for neutral observers, but we’re very good at doing exactly that. With enormous relegation scraps, battles for promotion and, of course, the jewel in the crown that is the play-offs, the EFL is hugely entertaining and contains the strongest leagues in the world when it comes to the second, third and fourth tiers of one nation.
Our team of EFL experts focus their attention on one of the three divisions each and are as well versed as they come on the 24 teams that compete in each league.
Our Championship, League One and League Two experts leave no stone unturned in their meticulous bet research. They go to great lengths to monitor the 24 teams in their league and absorb information close to the club so they’re always aware of the latest team news, managerial situations, external circumstances, tactical tweaks and the underlying numbers behind performances.
They watch hundreds of matches every season to ensure they are the most informed writers to be supplying you with betting tips.
Our football tips & predictions are published at least 24 hours before kick-off. That is unless we wait for some news that could alter a betting angle like a player injury or manager departure.
You can back our EFL tips in a matter of seconds. One click of one of my bet buttons will load the bet straight into your betslip and you can stake from there.
Our tips will mainly be placed on Betfair, Paddy Power, Sky Bet, bet365 and Betfred. We keep a list of the best free betting offers around to help you find the best value offers. While our free Premier League bets are also worth a browse ahead of the big kick-off.
You can back our tips as singles even if they are part of our European football accumulator tips, Premier League accumulator and SPFL acca predictions.
For the new season we’re launching weekly La Liga acca tips, Bundesliga acca best bets and Serie A accumulator predictions – each with ABC one-click functionality to add bets as singles or as the multiple folds.
Our EFL Bet Builder betting tips include between 5 and 8 predictions for a televised game. This allows you to pick the selections you feel confident in to create your Bet Builder.
Each prediction is supplemented by detailed research and football stats from our Bet Builder tool and cheat sheets. You can read our guide on how to use football cheat sheets so you can create your own bets too.
Andy’s experts like to cover a range of team and player prop markets in each Bet Builder, such as shots on target predictions, fouls, cards, over 2.5 goals tips and more.
Our bet builders will include tips on markets that are available on Paddy Power and Betfair, with Paddy Power Super Sub often offering extra value.
Fouls betting predictions and card betting tips will be included and you can educate yourself on the following markets here: football cards guide, betting on fouls, how to bet on goals, corners betting guide and how to bet on shots.
In addition to those, our explainer on how to use xg in football betting is a must-read ahead of the new season.
The Bet Builder articles are one-click away from the best bet builder bookmakers. These are the sports betting sites we feel have the best bet builder markets and free betting offers so you can put your money and our predictions to work.
In addition, our EFL football experts have been hard at work to find the very best predictions ahead of the new season.

The EFL betting tips and predictions are free and posted at least 24 hours before kick off so you can get the best odds.

The festive periods can be great for EFL punting, Boxing Day, New Year’s Day, in between, and then the Easter bank holiday weekend are a busy time for fixtures. That said, our experts find enticing betting angles with impressive regularity across the EFL and our outrights previewing the best season-long bets are not far away.

We’ve created a hub of the best bookies for accumulators so you don’t need to scour the web for where to place your accas this season with them all packaged in one convenient place on ABC. Our EFL acca is one of the most popular on Andy’s Bet Club. Each week we’ll pick around 4-8 selections across the board, ranging from League Two to the Championship.
It’s not just wins, we’ll include different bet types and markets such as over 2.5 goals tips, both teams to score, draw no bet and more.
Our accumulator content also spans across different areas of EFL. For example, we’ll have specific Championship acca tips and best bets and we also have FA Cup accumulator tips for those who prefer cup competitions.
Placing an accumulator is simple, just select a number of the best bets and predictions and create as many legs as you want. This is demonstrated in our Champions League acca tips and Europa League acca predictions. The bookmakers we prefer are Paddy Power, Betfair and Sky Bet to put our accas on.
Our bet types at Andy’s Bet Club vary from accumulators, best bets, bet builders, goals, wins and a few more. It depends on the competition.
If we cover the EFL Trophy we usually post EFL Trophy accumulator tips which mainly focus on goals, as it’s notoriously hard to predict winners in that competition.
All of the EFL tips we post can be used to cherry-pick your favourite selections to create your own bet, but some of the mainstays here at Andy’s Bet Club are:
Bet Builder: The Bet Builder contains 5-8 selections for you to choose from. They cover different markets including player props with a full write-up of why we have chosen them.
Gem: Our gem bets are single bets that are sent via email each week. Usually lower odds of around evens. Sign up to the mailing list to receive your free gem bet each week.
The bookmakers that we use the most are Betfair, Paddy Power and Sky Bet, closely followed by bet365 and Betfred.
Paddy Power has a wide range of markets for betting on the EFL. If you enjoy betting on goals, cards, corners and handicaps they have you covered, while their prices are always competitive towards the top of the market. Paddy Power have ‘2 Up You Win’ which means that if the team you backed to win go two goals up at any time the bet will be settled as a winner, so you don’t have to worry about any comebacks from a two-goal deficit.
Betfair are another great bookie for EFL betting and they have introduced ‘Match Odds 90’ this season. This means that goals scored after the clock hits 90:00 cannot negatively impact your bet. If your bet is winning at the time it will settle as a winner, but you can still benefit from a late comeback if the team you backed to win or draw does so with a goal in second half additional time.
Similar to Paddy Power, bet365 offer ‘Early Payout’ if the team you back to win go two goals up at any point in the match the bet will be settled as a winner. They also have more options for betting on the Asian Handicap and Asian Goal lines.
Sky Bet does so much for EFL betting and sponsors all three divisions. They have recently introduced the ‘Acca Freeze’ feature which allows bettors to freeze one selection of their 5+ fold accumulator if the team they have backed to win takes the lead, settling it as a winning leg.
Andy’s Bet Club focuses on the EFL but we also have experts, best bets and research on the majority of the biggest and most popular football leagues in the world:

Who are the past EFL promoted teams?
Every team in the Premier League aside from Manchester United, Arsenal, Liverpool, Chelsea, Tottenham and Everton have been an EFL promoted team in the Premier League era.
Last season Luton Town, Burnley and Sheffield United were relegated in their first season in the top-flight following promotion from the Championship, and this time around Southampton, Ipswich Town and Leicester City will look to significantly improve on that showing.
All three newly promoted teams stayed up in 2022/23, as Fulham, Bournemouth and Nottingham Forest stabilised in the Premier League.
How many teams are there in the EFL?
There are 72 teams in the EFL, 24 in the Championship, 24 in League One and 24 in League Two.
In the Championship: three teams are promoted to the Premier League, one via play-offs from teams that finish from third to sixth, and three teams are relegated to League One.
In League One; three teams are promoted to the Championshiop, one via the play-offs from teams that finish third to sixth, and four teams are relegated to League Two.
In League Two: four teams are promoted to League One, one via the play-offs from teams that finish from fourth to seventh, and two teams are relegated to the National League.
