Celtic will be looking to remain on an upward curve by claiming a win away at Hibernian in the Scottish Premiership on Sunday afternoon.

The Hoops have won five of their six matches under Martin O’Neill’s interim management, the most recent of which was an eye-catching 3-1 triumph away at Feyenoord on Thursday evening.

As for Hibernian, they will be aiming to bounce back from Tuesday night’s 2-0 defeat away at Motherwell.

📈 Hibernian v Celtic Form & Stats

Hibernian tasted defeat for the first time this month when slumping to a 2-0 defeat away at Motherwell on Tuesday. David Gray's side found themselves two goals behind just after the 20 minute mark and Grant Hanley’s red card shortly thereafter quickly extinguished any hopes of the capital club staging a comeback.

Hibs have proven to be one of the draw specialists in this season’s Scottish Premiership, with the points being shared in six of their opening 14 league games of the season, including three of their six matches at Easter Road.

Rangers are the only team to have emerged from this venue with a victory in the Scottish Premiership this season, with that loss representing Hibs’ first league defeat in front of their own  supporters in 16 matches - a sequence that stretched all the way back to November 2024.

Celtic enjoyed a rare European success away from home by coming from behind to claim a well-deserved 3-1 win over Feyenoord in Rotterdam on Thursday evening. That triumph has breathed some much-needed life into the Bhoys’ bid to reach the knockout stage of the Europa League.

On the domestic front, Celtic have cut the gap on Scottish Premiership leaders Hearts to just four points after winning each of their three league games under caretaker manager Martin O’Neill, the most recent of which was a last-gasp 1-0 win away at St Mirren last weekend.

Celtic boast the best defensive record in this season’s Scottish Premiership, conceding just eight goals across their opening 12 contests of the campaign, including each of the three games that they have played since parting company with Brendan Rodgers.

📔 Hibernian v Celtic Formation & Team News

Hibernian boss David Gray likes to set his side up in a 3-4-1-2 formation. The two wing-backs provide attacking width, while Jamie McGrath is typically deployed in the number 10 role behind the two strikers.

As was the case in midweek, the hosts again look set to be without injured trio Alasana Manneh, Josh Campbell and Rudi Molotnikov. The aforementioned Grant Hanley is ruled out through suspension following his red card at Fir Park on Tuesday night, so fellow defender Warren O'Hora could be handed a starting berth on Sunday.

Martin O’Neill has kept changes to a minimum in terms of Celtic’s formation, with his side typically shaping up in either a 4-3-3 or 4-2-3-1 system.

After coming off the bench to score the clinching goal on Thursday night, Benjamin Nygren is pushing for a recall to the Celtic starting XI on Sunday. Kelechi Iheanacho recovered from a hamstring injury to take his place in the Celtic squad last time out, though the Nigerian forward was an unused substitute.

Alistair Johnston, Callum Osmand, Cameron Carter-Vickers, Jota and Marcelo Saracchi are all expected to miss out again for Celtic this weekend.
